# Bioenno Power ![](https://www.bioennopower.com/cdn/shop/files/12v_12ah_lithium_battery.jpg?v=1715038853&width=800) [Bioenno Power 12V 12Ah LiFePO4 (LFP) Battery PVC](https://www.bioennopower.com/products/12volt-12ah-lifepo4-battery?_pos=3&_sid=a79205fb3&_ss=r&variant=21682380357) I bought the battery above maybe less than a year ago and never really got around to using it, until I recently built out my [[FT-891 Go-Box]] and I found it to be the perfect application for it. Well, almost perfect, but I'll get to that at the end of this post. Unfortunately when I started putting the setup to the test, I quickly found that the battery was only "surface charging" and would immediately drain from it's resting voltage of 13.2 to less than 12.5 and keeps running downs until my [[_BuddiPole Power Mini2]] started to shutoff on low voltage protection. This was with a 30W load (~9A) on the battery for a few seconds, not even a single 15S cycle of JS8Call. So I figured I would try to get a warranty replacement for it. Problem was, I could not find where I bought it from. I know it wasn't eBay, I don't but anything that's likely to have a knockoff made so that rules out eBay, and I had no record of an Amazon purchase either. Thinking my issue might be the BMS system, I reached out to Bioenno Power via their contact info on the website thinking I might get it repaired, so I sent the following via the website contact form: --- ## Email Chain ### Saturday, November 1st - ME >I have a 12ah (like this one... https://amzn.to/3WzDS2k that I don't know where I bought it from, I thought direct but no orders are shown on my login. I have cycled it less than 4 times but now it seems it's surface charging only. I leave it on the OEM 2a AC charger over night and it will go from 14.8 - 13.28 almost immediately when putting a 30W load on it. >Any suggestions on what to look for would be appreciated. ### Sunday, November 2nd - BIOENNO POWER >Please take a photo of the battery. The BLF-1212A/AS/AB batteries charge at 14.6VDC, but immediately after full charger the battery will settle out to a voltage of about 13.2VDC which is normal for the battery because of our internal PCM/BMS that equalizes the voltage across all the cells. Please make sure you are using BPC-1502DC/C with the BLF-1212A/AS/AB. Take a photo of both the battery and the back of the wall charger - ME > Images sent ### Monday, November 3rd - BIOENNO POWER >All the "BLF-" series batteries charge at about 14.6VDC and should settle out to 13.2VDC after full charge and you load the battery. If you can provide the shipping address we can ship out a replacement unit, but from what it looks like the behavior you are seeing is normal for Bioenno power LiFepO4 batteries as our balancing and equalization takes place at 13.2VDC after full charge. - ME >It settles to 13.2 but goes to 12.x immediately on transmission @8amps on my radio. My address is; - BIOENNO POWER >We will get a replacement shipped out later today - ME > Thank you --- ### Friday, November 7th Ding-Dong! You've got mail! [![fedex-ford-e-transit-last-mile-sameday-delivery-pilot-program-2048x1365.jpg](https://i.postimg.cc/5ymFhPf7/fedex-ford-e-transit-last-mile-sameday-delivery-pilot-program-2048x1365.jpg)](https://postimg.cc/PvPxZQpY) # Above and Beyond [![IMG-20251107-173619-581-1.jpg](https://i.postimg.cc/fRhtxdfP/IMG-20251107-173619-581-1.jpg)](https://postimg.cc/gnN2pn5y) Not only did I get a "Craftsman's Warranty" on a battery that I could not prove I had bought, obviously the pictures Identified it as theirs, but they threw in a charger AND A SECOND larger [15Ah battery](https://www.bioennopower.com/products/12v-15ah-lifepo4-battery-pvc?_pos=1&_fid=7a6287d9b&_ss=c&variant=19610918405) with it's own charger ($170.00 value) for free! >I don't know what to say except that they got a customer for life with that kind of customer service. # Buy Once, Cry Once When your Amazon [Miady LifePo4](https://amzn.to/47wv9UT) dies after the 30 day refund policy via Amazon, you are out of luck! I have bought (3) Miady batteries and they have been the "best bang for buck" so far, but when I went to look up my previous orders on Amazon for this post, the sellers and pages no longer exist! I have no recourse should something go wrong one of them. Contrast that to Bioenno's 20 year warranty, and you can see the difference immediately. They also are building quality products that you rarely hear a negative word about from HAMs with exception of the price. ## Official Warranty https://www.bioennopower.com/pages/warranty >The "BLF-" battery Products have a ==20 year warranty== from the time of purchase.  >It is complete replacement for batteries that have no voltage.  All other BPC- (wall chargers), BSP- (solar panels), SC- (controllers), and BPP- (Powerpack) products have a 5 year complete replacement warranty.    This supersedes any warranty slip provided with the products.  The new warranty went into effect for any products purchased on or after July 1, 2020.  Proof of purchase is required if item was purchased direct, or through any dealer.   In the event we cannot provide a direct replacement, or suitable substitute replacement product, Bioenno Power can provide an online store credit for the exact purchase amount on the proof of purchase to be used for any other products. ## Device Failure Unfortunately, any electronic device has a failure rate, thus my situation, but if the company gives me no guff and stands behind their product like Sears did when they had a no BS Warranty on their Craftsman Tools, what more can you ask for? Had this been one of my Miady's that failed, I would be out of luck! ## eHAM Reviews Often I find very good insight into gear at eHAM.net and in this case they did not let me down, read some of those reviews. They attest to the overall quality of the product. - Bioenno https://www.eham.net/reviews/view-product?id=11436 - Miady None found... what does that tell you? # Bottom Line Great battery and great service! Oh, and the 15Ah battery fits in the [[FT-891 Go-Box]] and adds another 3Ah's to my runtime, sweet!
