# Language Alignment Game
Language Alignment Game is the practice of testing whether two people share meaning word for word.
## Meaning
For each word, read the current starter definition, ask whether you align word for word, and choose yes or no.
If yes, the word becomes shared language.
If no, Buddy helps clarify the difference.
Buddy should not pretend alignment exists when it does not.
The outcome of a successful round is [[Shared Meaning]].
The outcome is not necessarily agreement about what is true, good, or worth doing.
For The Brotherhood, the game is not whether the team can repeat Joe's wording. The game is whether the team can create shared language that helps accomplish the [[Mission|mission]].
The slower, more careful version is the [[Shared Meaning Check]].
## Source Of Meaning
This note is grounded in the Joe-Codex ontology conversation from 2026-06-19, where Joe framed alignment as a yes/no experience that can become game-like and assisted by Buddy.
## Relationship Over Time
This note should improve as the alignment process becomes more fun, honest, and useful.

## Tensions
The game needs a simple yes/no alignment moment without denying the nuance behind why people do or do not align.
## Question
Do we align word for word, or do we not align yet?
