Similarly, if a mere 11% more of Wiley voters with nobody ranked after Wiley had ranked Garcia under her, Adams would not have won. this is not to single out Wiley voters as having done something wrong. it's impossible as a voter to predict an RCV election. (this is one reason why [[approval voting]] is better). the point is that it's really, really important to fill your entire RCV ballot and try to not have your vote wasted just because you didn't fill out every line! if nyc voters want to avoid Cuomo becoming mayor, everyone MUST include the next-highest-polling candidate *after* the ones they want to avoid. As of this [Quinnipiac poll](https://poll.qu.edu/poll-release?releaseid=3920), that's Zohran Mamdani at 8% (Williams has not declared candidacy)(as of March 5th). **to repeat, regardless of your top preference, if you want to maximize your ballot to work against Adams & Cuomo, you must rank the next high-polling candidate Mamdani somewhere on your ballot**. this instruction can and will change depending on how polling evolves.
