Why do we care about Autonomous RideHail? The cost of personal mobility hasn't changed much in the past 100 years since the Model T. But now, it's changing. We expect a RoboTaxi to cost a consumer just 25 cents per mile at scale. That's less than half the cost of a personal car and less than a tenth of the cost of a taxi today. This dramatic cost decline will drive consumer adoption of Autonomous RideHail. Autonomous taxis will be much safer than personally driven cars and cheaper, making them an attractive option. They are already proving to be safer than humans. For non-highway or city driving, which is more accident-prone, Tesla's data shows that using Full Self-Driving (FSD) is about five times safer than not using it or driving the Tesla yourself.
