Also known as "MOGS" (MAWGZ)
These are standard issue equipment for many militaries and some civilian agencies. They offer environmental protection, variable laser wavelength filtering, and minor ballistic protection. The cameras around the frame can display low-light amplification (with simulated color), infra-red, and near-ultraviolet spectrums (or any combination thereof) into the wearer's vision.
They also double as augmented reality googles with a micro-NPU built into them. The inside is coated with transparent screen material and is typically used to display basic information. Such as the time, compass heading, altitude, temperature, elevation, and other user selectable options.
They can be linked with ballistics computers in certain weapons to display a real-time projectile trajectory and impact points. Portable terminals can be connected to use the goggles are virtual screens.
