![[Spoilers#^LKS]] See: [[Lacir]] >[!info] The Lacir remain a fairly monolithic culture. Only the Retaark’an stand apart from the empire. ###### Dekt Markaat (DEHKT mahr-KHAT) - This is the inner circle of Lacir organizations. They are closely aligned with the emperor. The Markaat will fiercely defend territory, assets, and the emperor anywhere they are. They make up about 30% of the Lacir society, regardless of whether each individual is actually a part of the direct political structure or not. --- ###### 63rd Legion One of the most decorated units in their many conflicts with the Kyserians over the ages. The 63rd are a small but dedicated fraction of their population. They operate mainly on the Kyserian border and number in the tens of millions. --- ###### Kel Telaakt (KELL tel-LAHKT) - This is the largest group of Lacir. They make up the bulk of the “civilian” population. While all Lacir are technically part of their military. The Telaakt make up those who are mostly support roles. They comprise around 60% of the population and are considered lesser members of society. Often made up of primarily adolescent Lacir. --- ###### Lekaat (leh-KHAT) - Within the Telaakt, this group has lost some of their instinct to fight. They grow wary of the endless war and military culture of their people. While still fiercely loyal, they seek solutions to ending the conflicts that define their species. --- ###### Ulmaark (oohl-MAHRK) - This group is also within the “civilian” population. They are extremely xenophobic and think that the Lacir’s longstanding relationship with humans is a mistake. They want to see the Lacir as the only species in the galaxy. In a way, they are seeking a lasting peace, but believe the extermination of all other species as the only way to achieve that. --- ###### Relas Takaark (REH-lahs tah-KAHRK) - This is a smaller group within the Lacir. They are somewhat rebellious and have set themselves apart from the empire. Operating as traders and mercenaries. They are still a part of the larger Lacir society, but will often work with other species to maintain their way of life. This includes Kyserians and Morocaschics. The empire currently tolerates their faction, but they are barred from operating deep in Lacir territory. Some other factions are openly hostile towards them, particularly the Markaat loyalists. --- ###### Retaark’an (reh-TAHRK-ahn) - These are truly renegades. Operating as a subset of the Takaark, they have left Lacir space and live independently from Lacir influence. Most of which have scattered far into the unknown regions of the galaxy, but some choose to live with humans on the Border Worlds.
