The inner realms are fairly common knowledge amongst religious groups, [[Mancer|mancers]], and any companies who have worked with [[Inter-Realm Construct|Inter-Realm Constructs]]. Some government agencies and officials may have an understanding of them as well, but otherwise, it is not common knowledge. ![[Spoilers#^DLS]] Our universe exists like a shell over the inner realms. Each of the realms is infinite in size and immediately adjacent or overlapping the two “above and below” it. ## Realms The universe comprises five realms. Our reality exists upon the outermost or top layer, known as the [[Fifth Realm]]. Going “down” from there, the [[Umbral Realm]] or [[Umbral Realm|Fourth Realm]] is a hazy, washed out reflection of reality, wholly absent of naturally occurring living beings. This is the easiest realm for some [[Mancer|mancers]] to access, and is often used to evade danger or seek respite. Deeper still is the [[Fold]] or [[Fold|Third Realm]], is a membrane that divides the higher realms from those below. It can be traversed, but there is little to no physical structure to orient oneself. This realm is also where souls or spirits may become anchored, failing to merge with the Spirit Realm. The [[Spirit Realm]] or [[Spirit Realm|Second Realm]] is the source of Flux [[Essence]]. Impressions or shadows of living beings can be seen here, but there are no physical characteristics. [[Inter-Realm Construct|Inter-Realm Constructs]] may reach as far "into" the inner realms as this, where one can tap into a near-limitless supply of [[Essence|flux]] [[Essence|essence]]. The innermost realm of the universe is [[The Hub]] or the [[The Hub|Neotherum]]. [[Hubspace]] is also located here, but is "physically" distinct and "above" the [[Ennyrium]]. This is the home of the gods ([[Divines|divines]] / [[Voldeform|voldeforms]]). Outside of a few humans and [[Methuselan|Methuselans]] whom have been welcomed into the [[Fallen City]], this realm is almost completely unknown to mortals.
