## The Emperor The Emperor and his retinue are at the top of the Lacir society. Surrounding the Emperor is a small administrative group, which are his closest confidants. They advise and act as intermediaries to the lower branches of the Lacir. The current emperor is **Raekaat** (ray-KAHT). They have been ruling for the past 159 years (in 632 NDZ), and are nearing retirement. Various factions within the Lacir are vying for the position, but it is most likely that a member of the [[Lacir Factions#Dekt Markaat|Dekt Markaat]] or the [[Lacir Factions#63rd Legion|63rd Legion]], will assume the title of Emperor. ### Military The Lacir military is broken down by groups of warships. #### Fleet Command This branch is in charge of executing the Emperor’s wishes. They mostly remain in a state of readiness, endlessly awaiting the next [[Kyserian]] assault. The fleet comprises ~400,000 [[Spacecraft|spacecraft]]. Down to 10% of its original strength of 4 million before the [[Laciryn]] rebellion. [[Human|Humans]] have seen little of the Lacir’s true numbers, as many of their forces are stationed along the outer edge of the Norma-Outer Arm. Ever vigilant of Kyserian attacks. #### Battlegroup Comprising 5-20 fleets, this is the second largest military level of command. They are tasked with defending regions of space with hundreds of occupied planets. #### Fleet With ~1000 ships in this group, they are the backbone of the Lacir space forces. Each will patrol a vast swath of space and is expected to remain self sufficient. Traveling with enough supply and logistics to maintain their mission. Numerically, they are about 60% combat vessels and 40% support. The support portion of the fleet has everything it needs to occupy worlds, mine resources, grew nutrients, harvest hydrogen from gas giants and more. #### Strike Group These nimble formations are sent out by the fleets. Comprising ~100 vessels, they are almost entirely combat oriented, but may also be part of a resource expedition. Strike Groups routinely patrol the outer edges of their fleet’s area of operations. #### Patrol Group A team of 2-5 warships. This is the lowest level of the Lacir military command structure. They are tasked with direct intervention, investigation, and reconnaissance. ### Administration The Lacir administrative branch deals with all non-combat operations within the empire. #### Planetary Governor This position comes with its own cabinet of advisors. Each Governor handles a single planet within the empire. They must maintain order and resource allocation efforts. #### Logistics They work directly for the planetary governors, maintaining whatever production quotas are required. #### Diplomatic Corps This is the smallest branch of the Lacir empire. They mostly liaise with humans in the [[Core Worlds]] or border regions. This group handles all negotiations between the two species. #### Civilian While there are no true civilians within the empire, these Lacir individuals are not directly tasked with higher level positions. They are the workers, police, civil servants, merchants and occasionally non-contributing members of their society.
