## Preface
I wrote a book of D&D homebrew around 2018, when I was 14. It was bad. Really, really bad. Fucking terrible, even. I had picked up the core D&D 5e rulebooks a couple of months back, and I loved them. I was in love with the concept of D&D. I had been reading fantasy books as long as I could remember, and this was my way to finally live them. But… I had no-one to play with. Even if I did, I probably wouldn’t have had the courage to play with them. So all my experience with D&D was through the lens of rulebooks. I would look at the entry for druid, and imagine what living like a druid would be like. I’d see the entry for a flaming sword, and think how cool it would be if I had one. The way I had decided to make my D&D fantasies come to life was to write my own book. And thus the terrible, uninspired homebrew.
When I looked back on it again in 2025, I expected it to be bad. But with my new lens on life, I saw flecks of promise hidden there. This is a reimagining of all those entries that I though had promise, no matter how different they may end up.
