We often receive requests via our public website or facebook that require some kind of response.
# “I want do xxx” type enquiries
The kind of enquiry that seeks information about how we do stuff is best responded to with a brief answer to the question and an invitation to call in on a Visitors Night to check us out. A good example is something like this:

We can certainly help you with getting started with 3D printing. We have 3 printers one of which we lend to members.
Just come along on a Visitors Night (most Thursday evenings) to meet the members. We will give you a tour and answer any questions.

# Facebook group membership requests
- If someone applies to join the Facebook members group, who is a paid-up member, we automatically let them in.
- When someone who’s not a paid-up member asks to join the group, they get denied. We usually `Decline with feedback` — one of the options under the three dots on the *Member requests* page. The standard feedback message is something like:

I'm sorry, <name>, but as is clearly stated in the first line of its About panel, this group is for paid-up members of Hobart Hackerspace only.

# Jobbing requests
We often receive requests via our public website for us to perform jobbing requests (Performing some technical or machining task, with payment for services), We are not a jobbing shop and carry no suitable insurance as an organisation.
The standard response to such requests is of the form:

Sorry, <name>, but the Hackerspace is not a service provider and does not do jobbing work. It is a co-operative group to share tools and ideas.
If you'd like to see more, check out our website https://hobarthackerspace.org.au for times that we are open to visitors.

## Jobbing referrals
In such cases, it may be possible to refer the work on to a member or another organisation who can provide the relevant service, Examples are:
