Review and Quiz 1
---
# March 11 (Tue), March 13 (Thu)
1. **Diatonic Chords**
- **Major:** I-ii-iii-IV-V-vi-vii**°**
- **Minor:** i-ii**°**-III-iv-V-VI-vii**°**
2. **Blues Chord Progression**
- 12 bars
- The important chords: I, IV, and V
3. **Creating Music with Blues Chord Progression**
1. Create 3 MIDI tracks.
2. The first track is for harmony, so load an instrument like piano, guitar, or any instrument that can play chords.
3. The second track is for bass, so load a bass guitar instrument.
4. The third track is for drums, so load a drumset.
5. Record by keyboard or use a mouse to input a 12-bar chord progression in the first track. Try to move each note closely.
6. Record the bass in the second track. Use the root note for each beat, and if you feel inspired, try using different notes like other chord tones. Don’t be afraid to experiment with other notes if it sounds right; we can discuss it later.
7. Record any drum patterns you learned from last week.
8. You will have at least a 12-bar blues-ish piece of music by now.
