# The Power of Technology
<audio controls src="https://choose-your-own-adventure.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/04_App+Tour.mp3"></audio>
When you sign up and download your SigmaMD app, there are several things you can do to give me the best access to your information.
1. Complete the Patient Intake Form
2. Connect to other Patient Portals: Totally optional. Not particularly useful as it only pulls in some data, no notes.
3. Add Medical Information: Under the Care tab, you can add information about conditions, allergies, medications, procedures, vaccines, and vitals. These will be automatically pulled into your patient chart. You can always add new information here. If you want to delete anything, however, communicate that to me through the chat as deleting information can only be done from my side.
4. Add Health Insurance Information (under Profile tab)
5. Add payment information (under Profile tab)
# Sending a message with the app
If you select "Experiencing troubling symptoms" it will prompt you through a series of questions to give a history of your symptoms. The information will come to me directly and I will receive a special notification, prompting a faster response. Please leave a follow up message with more information.

# Reviewing notes in the app
All notes will now be available to review through the SigmaMD app. To access, select the "Care" tab and then scroll through options at the top until you find "Clinical Notes".
If you do not have the app, you can request your latest note from [[Joanne|Joanne]] at
[email protected].
# Updating medical information in the app
Information can be updated through the SigmaMD app (under the Care tab). Please make updates in the following situations:
- You start a new medication
- You have a new vital to report
- You get a vaccine
- You get a surgery or procedure
- You develop a new allergy
- You get a new diagnosis
# Scheduling an appointment in the app

3. Select Your Desired Appointment Type
This will usually be "Appointment" for a normal 45 minute appointment virtually, in the clinic, or over the phone. I have added a "Quick check in" option for brief concerns. House calls are available in Terre Haute, IN or Urbana, IL. Other house calls must be discussed with me and added to the calendar manually.
