You do not need to have all of the below imaging done, even if you feel our doctors need to examine additional areas, only the ones that match your referral will be taken at your appointment. This imaging provides flexion, extension, prone and rotational views that enable a more accurate diagnosis to be made. For: ### headaches and neck pain, cervical instability or eval of Chiari malformation 1. Upright, open, weight-bearing MRI of the cervical spine, Flexion/Extension, without contrast. 2. Rotational Cervical Spine CT-Scan (including occiput) without contrast: a) rotate neck 90 degrees to the left; b) rotate neck 90 degrees to the right. ### thoracic or lumbar pain: 1. Upright, open, weight-bearing MRI of the thoracic or lumbar spine, Flexion/Extension, without contrast. ### known tethered cord of the lumbar spine: 1. Upright, open, weight-bearing MRI of the lumbar spine, Flexion/Extension, without contrast OR 2. Prone lumbar MRI without contrast AND 3. Urodynamic testing to diagnose or rule out neurogenic bladder. For known Tarlov cysts of the lumbar spine: 1.
