You reminded yourselves what the **Mind Crystal** had shown of **Bharhgda's** mind, and of her temper — she strikes the instant she smells weakness — and did the sums of appeasement aloud: a cow a day, near 5 gp, close to 1,800 gp across a year to keep her quiet. Cattle to buy time, then a plot to kill her. You put the business before **Bagsley Corundum**. Foremost was the frozen **thief** in the mill's cellar, and whether to tell Bagsley of him; hearing enough, Bagsley set the shape of the favour you owe: **recover the thief and mollify the wyrm**, and the debt is squared. He confirmed a higher hunger for the wyrm gone — implied to reach up to the **Baron of High-Hankle**, **Baron Hogwarsh** himself. You also traded a suspicion among yourselves that the **Florid Envoy** might be an affiliate of the Cold Prince. You carried the whole situation to the Envoy, **Gemrand Soliquant**, who agreed to come to the mill and to **produce two scrolls of Dispel Magic**. You negotiated a standing lodging at the **Chantry** — 100 gp bought the run of the house through **1 Haggryme** (no recruiting or events thrown in): the company's High-Hankle bolt-hole. Two cows were bought at 20 gp each. Riding out, you passed through **Hex 0611 — The Magpie Gang** and sighted **Magpie's Oak**, silver trinkets swaying from its boughs, but learned nothing more of it and met no trouble. On to **Hex 0712 — The Derelict Windmill**: up past the old stone bothy, one cow given to Bharhgda, and down into the ice cellar. Below, **Soliquant** made a **detailed sketch of the ritual** and read the runes on the floor as an invocation of the **Cold Prince**. He cast **Dispel Magic** and freed the frozen **thief — Simeone Waylord**, thawed and recovered alive — along with the ritual prizes: the ice-shard fairy dagger **Frost-Rimed**; a **helm of fairy silver** (2,000 gp); a **Wand of Lightning Bolts** (11 charges); a chalice of **Vaporous Spirits** (2 doses); and a **platinum sceptre tipped with four peridots** (3,000 gp). You withdrew cleanly, found no hidden doors, and counted two wyrmlings — suspecting more. Bharhgda asked to eat **Soliquant** — twice — and was refused each time; you fed her promises instead, of more cattle, or innocents, to come. You returned to High-Hankle in the dark and made for the Chantry. Pressed on what he had copied, Soliquant left you with the sense that the ritual is **very dangerous to the one who casts it**. His fee for the day was settled not in coin but in the discovery itself. Then the reckoning. Bagsley queued you onto the **Mirrors of Embala** and gave an approximate location for one, off to the north. He offered **ten 500 gp bearer bonds** — 5,000 gp, on Baron Hogwarsh's paper — for the helm and the sceptre, which you took. You resolved to bank the treasure and ride north. Two threads closed the night: **Jymes Addercapper** reported back, and struck you as lying or holding something back; from him you gathered that **Captain Cabruc Lockehorn** now sits at **Castle Everdusk** in the wake of an assassination. You then rode north to your stronghold at **Garnack's Tower (hex 0309)** and stowed the bearer bonds in its hidden cache — the thief recovered, Bagsley's favour squared — and set your minds to the northern road and the Mirror of Embala. ### Party Expenses | Item | Cost | |---|---| | Chantry lodging — run of the house through 1 Haggryme | 100 gp | | Two cows (2 × 20 gp) | 40 gp | | Retainer wages (4 leveled × 1 gp/day × 3 days) | 12 gp | | Townsfolk bearer wages (6 × 1 gp/day × 3 days) | 18 gp | | Gemrand Soliquant's fee | paid in kind — the discovery | | **Total** | **170 gp** | > The 5,000 gp in bearer bonds is treasure recovered and banked at Garnack's Tower — not an expense. --- ## SESSION REPORT #14 — PLAYER VERSION > *They fed the feathered she-wyrm two fat cows and listened to her through a borrowed elf's crystal, and learned that the prize beneath the old mill lay behind a door no ordinary key would open.* ### Session Metadata | Field | Detail | |---|---| | **IRL Date** | 06/24/2026 | | **Next Session** | 07/08/2026 | | **Players Present** | 2 | ### Mechanical Summary | Category | Value | |---|---| | Gold Recovered | 0 gp | | Monster XP | 0 | | Treasure XP | 0 | | **Total XP/Player** | **0** `(0 + 0) ÷ 2` | | Retainer Share | Three contracted retainers now in the field (half share + 1 gp/day each); no XP to divide | **Illiquid Treasure:** None recovered. Corvus the Breggle (Breggle F3) — absent | ### Chronicle The evening of the 28th of Obthryme found the company still at the **Chantry** in **Hex 0512 — High-Hankle**, plotting how to take the black wyrm at the derelict mill. They spoke of the old stone bothy and the crumbling windmill on its hill, and laboured to dream up some land-anchor and harpoon contraption by which a wyrm might be pinned or a prize hauled up — a device much debated and never built. First, they resolved, they would put their doings before **Bagsley Corundum**. That audience was a careful dance of half-truths. The party kept up the tale that **Red Gwen** still rode, lying about her death while implying heavily that they were the hand behind the region's recent upheavals and the restarting of the cabbage supply — and very nearly tripped over the lie before they recovered it. Bagsley let it be known, with weight, that the group now owed him a considerable favour. He has no love for the **Florid Envoy** (the sage **Gemrand Soliquant**, in his palazzo atop the town gate) and urged the party to rob him outright. He struck an extortion-and-protection arrangement with them, and dropped two further hints worth their weight in gold: that **Bharhgda** the wyrm could be bargained with through large gifts of food, and that the lord of High-Hankle, **Baron Hogwarsh**, wished the wyrm removed — dead or alive. Lodging overnight at the Chantry (into **1 Braghold**), the company was introduced to **Shallow-Pained-Plight**, an elf magician of Bagsley's circle: a courtier of some three and a half centuries in decaying finery, gold-haired by day and grey by night, her pupils shaped like stars, her voice distant and faintly echoing, her manner aloof. She numbered **Mind Crystal** among her spells, and the party bought a gem worth no less than 250 gp for her to attune to it. She stayed the night to make her preparations. On **2 Braghold** the company rode out, passing through **Hex 0612 — The Magpie Gang** without trouble and reaching **Hex 0712 — The Derelict Windmill** by mid-afternoon. The mill was a three-storey ruin atop a high, desolate hill, its tattered sails chuckling on the wind, its door barred from within by fallen beams, its windows open and wide enough for a slim body, its ground floor choked with debris and millstones — and amid the wreck, a stone trapdoor leading down. The party pushed a sacrificial cow toward the mill, the rest of the band hanging back within range of the Mind Crystal to listen to the creature's thoughts as she fed. Through the crystal **Bharhgda** — a hungry, defensive she-wyrm with golden eyes and a mane of dark purple feathers, watchful over her brood — proved grateful for the meat. She spoke of a "cold magic" she could smell in the cellar below the trapdoor, a thing she could not reach herself, and offered to share whatever the party could bring up from it. From her the company took a clear sense of the way down into the cellar — and understood that some powerful unbinding magic would be needed to claim what lay frozen there. From this the party shaped their design: obtain a spell of **Dispel Magic** from the Florid Envoy, then murder the Envoy and rob his palazzo by feeding him to Bharhgda — the wyrm as both weapon and grave. They gave her a second cow and watched her devour it with relish, sealing the bargain. The company then rode back to **High-Hankle** (by 3 Braghold), reported to Bagsley that "their guy is there," and formally retained **Shallow-Pained-Plight** for the work ahead. The session closed with the cellar still sealed, the Envoy still breathing, and the wyrm well fed. ### Party Expenses | Item | Cost | |---|---| | Pooled party outlay (5 gp/player × 2) — sundries and the two sacrificial cows | 10 gp | | Gem attuned as a Mind Crystal focus | 250 gp | | Retainer wages (3 × 1 gp/day × 3 days) | 9 gp | | **Total** | **269 gp** | --- ## SESSION REPORT #13 — PLAYER VERSION > *A wasted day among the hilly pines, witch-tracks fading into the wood, and four strangers swearing service in a Chantry lamplight while a sage put true names to your bound weapons.* ### Session Metadata | Field | Detail | |---|---| | **IRL Date** | 05/27/2026 | | **Next Session** | 06/10/2026 | | **Players Present** | 3 | ### Mechanical Summary | Category | Value | |---|---| | Gold Recovered | 0 gp | | Monster XP | 0 | | Treasure XP | 0 | | **Total XP/Player** | **0** `(0 + 0) ÷ 3` | | Retainer Share | None active (three new retainers contracted at end of session) | **Illiquid Treasure:** None newly recovered. Discussion turned, as it has for weeks, to the **Red Gwen / Snidebleat** problem: whether **Snidebleat** could be made to ride under Red Gwen's pennon as a long-running imitator, both to keep **Bagsley Corundum** chasing a ghost and to continue the road-toll robberies for the party's account. They tabled the question pending an audience with **Lady Borrid**. Pushing south into **Hex 0310 — The Craven Mounds**, the party crossed sign of six **witches** escorting a single blindfolded figure. The group declined contact and instead back-walked the witches' trail. The tracking carried them west into **Hex 0509 — The Pelloryons**, where the hilly woods turned them around for six full hours before they realised they had walked themselves in a circle and were back where they'd started. They abandoned the chase and consolidated for the evening at **Hex 0309 — Garnack's Tower**, where they fed and rested. On the morning of **27 Obthryme** they pressed south again, taking a long, careful look at the mounds in **0310** without disturbing whatever lives there, then linked up with **Snidebleat** at **Hex 0311 — the former Bandit Hideout (Red Gwen's old camp)**. She delivered a clean report on road traffic. The party again deferred the Red Gwen-imitator scheme, citing the need to consult **Lady Borrid** first. From 0311 they pushed straight through to **Hex 0512 — High-Hankle**, arriving at the **Chantry** (proprietor: Sandrine Candlewick) by evening. The barkeep pointed them toward a sage called **Gemrand Soliquant, "The Florid Envoy,"** operating from a palazzo apartment at the top of one of the town's gates. One gold piece covered lodging plus the town crier hired to put word out for a magician or cleric. **28 Obthryme** dawned clear and cold — the last day of the 11th month. The party brought the magic items recovered from Garnack's footlocker and the Cheese-Fiend's hut to Gemrand, who ran four serial identifications at the standard rate (200 gp each): - **Ring of Water Walking** — wearer walks the surface of water without sinking. - **The Sword of Kolstoke** — Arcane two-handed sword, **Fairy Bane** (PB p412). - **Truespite** — Garnack's large arcane warhammer, **Drune Bane** (PB p412). *(The +2 was already known; the Drune Bane property is newly revealed.)* - **Holy Dagger** — **Wizard Bane**. While the identifications were running, the party held a long conversation with Gemrand about fairy lore. The sage was visibly hungry for any first-hand fairy intelligence the party could produce — payment in coin or favour was implied, and the door is wide open for a longer-running relationship. During the same window, the party **cased the palazzo apartment at the top of the gate** and obtained a good working sense of its layout. The evening's recruiting party — 50 gp invested at the Chantry — drew six normal humans and four generated adventurers. The party rejected the hunter Gripe Shankwold and contracted the other three (Bockstump, Dogoode, Fraggleton) at half share + 1 gp/day each. Before retiring, they took down the names of the magic guilds at **Brackenwold (Shadow House, Castle Brackenwold)** and **Mostlemyre Drouge (Prigwort)**, both flagged for future identification or recruitment runs. The session ended with the party still in High-Hankle, the new retainers signed, and the palazzo unbroken. ### Party Expenses | Item | Cost | |---|---| | Lodging at the Chantry + town crier (27 Obthryme) | 1 gp | | Sage Gemrand Soliquant — four serial identifications (4 × 200 gp) | 800 gp | | Recruiting party at the Chantry (PB inn-recruitment rate) | 50 gp | | **Total** | **851 gp** | --- ## SESSION REPORT #12 — PLAYER VERSION *They came down from the dead woman's tree bearing her silver and made a bargain with the lady of the keep for the right to charge tribute on the road, and the wood through which they passed gave them no quarrel.* ### Session Metadata - **IRL Date:** 05/13/2026 - **Next Session:** 05/27/2026 - **Players Present:** 3 ### Mechanical Summary - **Gold Recovered:** 7,750 gp (value: 6,500 gp + 12,500 sp from Red Gwen's Treasury) - **Monster XP:** 0 - **Treasure XP:** 7,750 - **Total XP/Player:** 2,583 `[CALCULATED: (0 + 7,750) ÷ 3 = 2,583]` - **Retainer Share:** None (Snidebleat and crew assigned to road patrol/toll-keeping under Lady Borrid's direction, not adventuring with the party) - **Illiquid Treasure (newly recovered from Red Gwen's Treasury this session):** - Mannog's woollen trousers (transforms wearer's appearance to a unique woodgrue per individual; 200 gp value) - Assortment of furs (300 gp value) - 6 barrels Cobsworth Pale Ale (62 gp each / 372 gp total) - 20 bottles Prigwort Pure (35 sp each / 70 gp total) - 10 bottles Lord Oberon's Ambrosial (5 gp each / 50 gp total) - 20 crates Dusty Abbot and Westling's Weed (10 gp each / 200 gp total) ### Temporal Tracking - **Date Began:** 22 Obthryme (evening) - **Date Ended:** 25 Obthryme - **Days Elapsed:** 4 - **Moon Phase:** Waning Gibbous → Last Quarter - **Upcoming Holidays:** None - **Weather/Time:** Drizzly and damp / Midday ### Geographical Tracking - **Start Location:** Hex 0311 — Bandit Hideout (Red Gwen's treehouse) - **End Location:** Hex 0108 — Shrivelbyne - **Hexes Explored:** 0311, 0411, 0511, 0512, 0310, 0309, 0208, 0108 ### Party Status - **Deaths:** None - **Injuries:** None - **New Hirelings:** Snidebleat (former bandit lieutenant, now subordinate) and his crew of 4 — placed under party command via Lady Borrid, assigned to outpost duty at Red Gwen's hideout and the road's patrol and toll-keeping - **New Animals:** 3 Dapple-Doff draft horses, 1 mule (with saddlebags, bridles, 5 days feed) - **Party Composition:** Bendiom Sodwallow (Mossling Hunter 3), Corvus the Breggle (Breggle Fighter 3), Mashker Underbleat (Breggle Knight 3) ### Session Chronicle The evening of the 22nd of Obthryme found the company hunched amid the spoils of **Red Gwen**'s (deceased bandit leader) treasury at hex 0311, weighing how three small bodies might bear away such weight. They tried on the woollen trousers wrought by Mannog and marked that the magic gave each wearer the face of a different woodgrue, the form fixed once per individual. They debated long the matter of beasts of burden, of whether to draw **Lady Borrid** (huntmaster, new lord of Kolstoke Keep) into the secret of the hoard, and of how to bear the watchful shadow of **Bagsley Corundum** (merchant and proprietor of Hankle Heirlooms) over their dealings. Three donkeys at least would be wanted, and the order was set: secure beasts, then coin and items of worth, then the trade goods, and last the question of security. The 23rd dawned cloudy and misted, visibility obscured to the worst class, and they took the road to High-Hankle in hex 0512 without incident, arriving at the Chantry to find the horse-market already broken up. From a local dealer they bought three Dapple-Doff draft horses at sixty gold the head — mighty, shaggy-furred beasts, dull-witted and easily spooked — and a mule at forty, and provisioned the lot with saddlebags, bridles, and five days of feed for seventy-five gold besides. Departing the town they met a company of knights and griffon-handlers, four of each, engaged in the hunt for the wayward beasts of the Griffonry, and learned thereby of the recent escape. They turned back along the road, recalled the cart left at the peel tower, and arrived again at hex 0311 by nightfall. On the 24th, beneath drizzling rain, they loaded the first burden — six thousand five hundred gold pieces and ten thousand five hundred silver besides — onto the beasts, leaving the trade goods and two thousand silver to wait at the hideout. They moved with care through hex 0310, scouting ahead, mindful of the eerie silence and seething soil that had unsettled them in passages prior. The coin was secured in a hidden room at Garnack's peel tower in hex 0309, the caretaker paid ten gold for the keeping, and the company pressed on with their cart to Kolstoke Keep at hex 0208. There they took counsel with Lady Borrid, who had assumed the lordship of the keep, and from her gained the right to establish a toll on the road in exchange for a weekly payment of one gold to herself and one to **Lord Ramius** (lord of Castle Everdusk in hex 0410, ruler of the western High Wold), and the duty of maintaining a patrol upon the road besides. In disclosure of their dealings they laid before her the status of the dead Red Gwen, the location of her hideout, and the implication of **Snidebleat** in traitorous correspondence, offering ale and tobacco as surety. They were told that the deceased **Lord Murkin**'s (former lord of Kolstoke Keep) elderly mother now dwelt upstairs at the keep. From Borrid they gained also the disposition of Snidebleat and his crew, to be parcelled between an outpost at the hideout and the maintenance of the road's patrol and toll. Snidebleat was duly informed of his new chain of command. On the 25th, beneath unchanged skies, the company made their final delivery of the remaining trade goods to Kolstoke Keep, passing along the West Road without incident — though Snidebleat's crew of four were seen along the way, looking for them — and ended the day at Shrivelbyne in hex 0108. ### Party Expenses - 3 Dapple-Doff draft horses (60 gp each): 180 gp - 1 mule: 40 gp - Saddlebags, bridles, and 5 days of feed: 75 gp - Tip to caretaker at Garnack's peel tower: 10 gp - **Total:** 305 gp 0 sp # SESSION REPORT #11 - PLAYER VERSION *They dragged their fortune through the dark wood and when they came upon the tower they claimed what no lord remained to defend.* ### SESSION METADATA - **IRL Date:** 04/15/2026 - **Next Session:** 04/29/2026 - **Players Present:** 3 ### MECHANICAL SUMMARY - **Gold Recovered:** 406 gp 1 sp 1 cp (coin value from Garnack's footlocker) - **Monster XP:** 10 (1 shorthorn) - **Treasure XP:** 406 - **Total XP/Player:** 138 [CALCULATED: (10 + 406) ÷ 3 = 138] - **Retainer Share:** None - **Illiquid Treasure:** Damaged gold medallion studded with red garnets, emblem of House Ramius (800 gp; up to 1,500 gp if skilfully repaired); 3 bottles of mead bearing the mark of Shobbrattle's brewery in Dreg (36 sp each); a human shin bone with unusual etchings; a fragment of an old map with markings in an unfamiliar script; Snidebleat's correspondence with Red Gwen and cipher - **Red Gwen's Treasury (hex 0311, accessed but NOT recovered):** 6,500 gp; 12,500 sp; furs (300 gp); 6 barrels Cobsworth Pale Ale (62 gp each); 20 bottles Prigwort Pure (35 sp each); 10 bottles Lord Oberon's Ambrosial (5 gp each); 20 crates Dusty Abbot & Westling's Weed (10 gp each); woollen trousers embroidered "Mannog" ### TEMPORAL TRACKING - **Date Began:** 20 Obthryme (evening, continuing from Session 10) - **Date Ended:** 22 Obthryme - **Days Elapsed:** 3 - **Moon Phase:** Full Moon (20th) → Waning Gibbous (21st-22nd) - **Upcoming Holidays:** None - **Weather/Time:** Drizzle (20th evening); Cloudy and misty (21st); Misty and cloudy (22nd) / Evening ### GEOGRAPHICAL TRACKING - **Start Location:** Hex 0509 - Lair of the Bicorne - **End Location:** Hex 0311 - Bandit Hideout (Red Gwen's Treehouse) - **Hexes Explored:** 0509, 0309, 0310, 0311 ### PARTY STATUS - **Deaths:** None - **Injuries:** None - **New Hirelings:** Toma Beekman of Dreg (human, temporary labor — enlisted to pull sledge, released before reaching tower); unnamed gardener (shorthorn, retained at Garnack's tower, offered to work for pay) - **Party Composition:** Bendiom Sodwallow (Mossling Hunter 3), Corvus the Breggle (Breggle Fighter 3), Mashker Underbleat (Breggle Knight 3) ### SESSION CHRONICLE The evening of the 20th of Obthryme found the company at the Bicorne's lair in hex 0509, debating how to move a sledge laden with the hoard of the dead across miles of dark forest. They elected to press through the night, hauling their fortune northward toward the tower of the late Garnack the Horse in hex 0309. In the small hours of the 21st, under cloudy and misty skies, they encountered **Toma Beekman** (lost soul of Dreg) — a bewildered man who claimed to have been asleep for four years and was now attempting to find his way home. The party enlisted him to help pull the sledge, paying him three silver pieces. Beekman offered a rumor of a fairy door near hex 0309 before they parted ways. The company released Beekman before he could learn the location of the treasure or the tower, then concealed the sledge in a defile beside the road. Reconnaissance of Garnack's tower revealed one shorthorn standing guard and an old man tending the grounds. A prolonged negotiation with the guard proved fruitless, and Bendiom Sodwallow settled the matter with a blow from Garnack's warhammer, killing the shorthorn and propping the corpse against the door to hold it open. The **gardener** (shorthorn), seeing the way of things, ceded the tower without a fight, noting he would work for pay and decent treatment. The gardener also indicated that a fairy door lay nearby, corroborating Beekman's rumor — he attributed his knowledge to the occasional displacement of shorthorns in the area. As a show of good faith, the gardener offered the key to Garnack's footlocker and stated he had taken only ten gold pieces for himself. The party made him open the chest in case it was trapped. Within they found 370 gold pieces, 229 silver pieces, 1,321 copper pieces, a damaged gold medallion bearing the gnarled eye emblem of House Ramius, three bottles of good mead, a human shin bone covered in unusual etchings, and a fragment of an old map with markings in an unfamiliar script. Bendiom Sodwallow then retrieved a scraggling mule and cart from a small shed and used them to ferry the hoard from the concealed sledge to the tower. The company methodically secured their treasure in the cellar behind a hidden panel — a priest hole, the gardener called it, well concealed behind shelving. They slept in the tower, its commanding hilltop position offering a clear view of the High Road and the surrounding woods. On the 22nd, under persistent mist, the company took stock of their new holdings. The tower possessed petty vegetable fields and a good tactical position. They weighed their options — **Bagsley Corundum's** (crime lord of High-Hankle) interest in renewing the cabbage trade, **Lady Borrid's** (new ruler of Kolstoke Keep) political situation — and resolved to press south to Red Gwen's former hideout in hex 0311. They traversed hex 0310 with care, and upon reaching the treehouse discovered **Sergeant Snidebleat's** (Murkin's former knight) correspondence with Red Gwen, indicating Snidebleat had been a paid informant rather than a politically aligned operative. The party recovered the cipher and Red Gwen's stamp for the letters. They located Red Gwen's stash but did not yet recover it. They gained access to the treasury — a locked hut near the common area — and surveyed its staggering contents: coin, furs, ale, pipe-weed, spirits, and a pair of woollen trousers embroidered with the name "Mannog," that turned the wearer into a Woodgrue, or at least gave the appearance of doing so. The session ended with three adventurers standing amid a bandit queen's fortune, contemplating the logistics of hauling it all back to a dead man's tower. --- ## Session 10 > *The lords of the High Wold killed one another like dogs in the dripping wood while three small creatures picked gold from between the dead men's teeth and called it statecraft.* | Field | Detail | |---|---| | **IRL Date** | 04/01/2026 | | **Next Session** | 04/15/2026 | | **Players Present** | 3 | ### Mechanical Summary | Category | Value | |---|---| | Gold Recovered | 9,643 gp (value) | | Monster XP | 0 | | Treasure XP | 9,643 | | **Total XP/Player** | **3,214** `(0 + 9,643) ÷ 3` | | Retainer Share | None (Jymes Addercapper is a townsfolk retainer, not counted for XP division) | **Illiquid Treasure:** - Dagger engraved with howling skulls - Ornate key - Longsword with hilt inlaid with black opals (Murkin's blade) - Warhammer (Garnack's) - 3 mouldy spell books (readable spells: Rank 1 *Floating Disc*, *Glyph of Sealing*; Rank 2 *Mind Crystal*; Rank 3 *Haste*) - Dented silver shield engraved with narwhals - Bronze casket studded with citrine (worth 1,500 gp) - Silver locket with portrait of longhorn noblewoman in saffron sash (worth 1,000 gp) ### Temporal Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Date Began | 18 Obthryme | | Date Ended | 20 Obthryme | | Days Elapsed | 3 | | Moon Phase | Full Moon (18–20 Obthryme) | | Upcoming Holidays | None | | Weather/Time | Warm and sunny (18th) / Damp drizzle (20th) / Evening | ### Geographical Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Start Location | Hex 0208 — Kolstoke Keep | | End Location | Hex 0509 — Lair of the Bicorne | | Hexes Explored | 0208, 0109, 0108, 0309, 0408, 0509, 0510 | ### Party Status | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Deaths | None | | Injuries | None | | New Hirelings | Jymes Addercapper (townsfolk retainer, former farmer — club, dagger) | | Party Composition | Bendiom Sodwallow (Mossling Hunter 3), Corvus the Breggle (Breggle Fighter 3), Mashker Underbleat (Breggle Knight 3) | ### Chronicle The morning of the 18th of Obthryme dawned warm and clear as the company departed Kolstoke Keep in hex 0208, bearing south and west toward the hunting lodge of Lady Borrid (noble huntmaster) in hex 0109. There they delivered their intelligence: Lord Murkin would ride out on the 20th for a hunt. The party laid before Borrid the full architecture of their conspiracy — the assassination would be framed to implicate Red Gwen (bandit leader), with the spectacle arranged before Lord Murkin's rival, Lord Raimius (lord of Castle Everdusk), to consolidate Borrid's claim to the seat of Kolstoke. Garnack the Horse (longhorn hedge knight) was described as a disreputable but potentially useful reinforcement, with the High Hankle crime boss Corundum keen to keep the Crown Cabbage tavern operating in Garnack's absence. Lady Borrid made the stakes plain: if harm came to her during the plot, the party would be put to death; if it succeeded, they would be rewarded amply. Borrid herself would lead Murkin toward the Bicorne and into an ambush with Red Gwen. On the 19th, the company discussed how to draw Captain Lockehorn (Galblight militia captain) into the affair and fretted that Garnack might provoke Corundum's wrath in High Hankle before the appointed hour. They swung through Shriveybyne in hex 0108 and recruited Jymes Addercapper (decrepit yet muscular former farmer), a wiry mortal armed with a club and a dagger and distinguished chiefly by an enormous green man belt buckle. Jymes was dispatched with particular instructions: inform Captain Lockehorn that Red Gwen, Garnack, and Lord Murkin would converge near the Bicorne's lair. The party's design was to escalate Lockehorn into the fight, ensuring the mutual destruction of all involved parties. They then retrieved Murkin from Kolstoke Keep with two of his knights and traveled through hexes 0309 and 0408 — where they spotted the sunken ground — before arriving at an expedition camp in hex 0509 established by Borrid and her retinue. They bedded down with Murkin, deep in Raimius's lands, the wood closing around them. On the morning of the 20th, beneath damp drizzle and the full moon's last light, the trap was sprung. Jymes was dispatched toward Lockehorn. Lady Borrid discovered what appeared to be sign and Murkin with his two knights was directed toward the ambush. Borrid's "flusher" group peeled north while her own force swung south. The party entered hex 0509 proper, experienced its disorienting nature as ordinary travelers lost in the maze, and emerged to find the carnage already settled. Lord Murkin and his two knights lay dead. Red Gwen was slain, her gang eliminated. Garnack the Horse had been devoured by the Bicorne. Lady Borrid stood as the unencumbered heir to Kolstoke Keep. Jymes had failed to convince Lockehorn to join the fray. The party found Red Gwen's dagger and an ornate key alongside a letter of credit for 1,567 gold pieces secured by the duke as a bearer bond. They stripped 466 gold pieces and 11 gems worth 1,200 gold from the fallen. They took Red Gwen's head to claim whatever bounty might be had. From Murkin's corpse they claimed his longsword. Garnack's warhammer was retrieved from the Bicorne's pit by grappling hook. The party then descended into the Bicorne's pit, distracting the beast with the corpses of the fallen. Over the course of an hour they carefully extracted a staggering hoard: 5,676 gold pieces, 6,332 silver pieces, and 10,099 copper pieces. Among the bones they found three mouldy spell books with surviving spells, a dented silver shield engraved with narwhals, a bronze casket studded with citrine worth 1,500 gold, and a silver locket bearing the portrait of a longhorn noblewoman in a saffron sash. The party resolved to construct an ad hoc sledge and haul the treasure to Garnack's tower in hex 0309. --- ## Session 9 > *They set every player upon the board with promises made in separate rooms, and the moon that rose full over Kolstoke Keep illuminated the outlines of a design that none among the conspirators could wholly see.* | Field | Detail | |---|---| | **IRL Date** | 03/04/2026 | | **Next Session** | 03/18/2026 | | **Players Present** | 3 | ### Mechanical Summary | Category | Value | |---|---| | Gold Recovered | 0 gp | | Monster XP | 0 | | Treasure XP | 0 | | **Total XP/Player** | **0** `(0 + 0) ÷ 3` | | Retainer Share | None | **Illiquid Treasure:** None ### Temporal Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Date Began | 17 Obthryme | | Date Ended | 18 Obthryme | | Days Elapsed | 2 | | Moon Phase | Waxing Gibbous → Full Moon (Narrow Moon) | | Upcoming Holidays | None | | Weather/Time | Cloudy and misty (Day 18) / Midday | ### Geographical Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Start Location | Hex 0311 — Bandit Hideout | | End Location | Hex 0208 — Kolstoke Keep | | Hexes Explored | 0311, 0310, 0409, 0309, 0209, 0109, 0108, 0208 | ### Party Status | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Deaths | None | | Injuries | None | | New Hirelings | Bandit runner (human, unnamed — from Red Gwen, serves as messenger), Shorthorn messenger (from Garnack) | | Party Composition | Bendiom Sodwallow (Mossling Hunter 3), Corvus the Breggle (Breggle Fighter 3), Mashker Underbleat (Breggle Knight 3) | ### Chronicle The morning of the 17th found the company in Red Gwen's (bandit leader) treehouse at hex 0311, where they laid before her the shape of their design: Lord Murkin would be lured south to the Bicorne's pit in hex 0509, accompanied by Lady Borrid under pretense of a hunt, and there the beast would do what swords could not do cleanly. They disclosed the Bicorne's location so Gwen might position herself to claim a share of the creature's hoard. The party also discussed leveraging Garnack the Horse's gambling debts to secure his muscle for the operation, and debated the relative merits of legitimating an heir versus letting the rival claimants destroy one another. After much deliberation they settled their plan: Murkin and Borrid would follow footprints south toward the Bicorne's pit, Red Gwen would be maneuvered into position simultaneously, and Garnack — compelled by the debts the party had assumed — would serve as muscle. The party committed to maintaining contact with Gwen via a dead-drop site, and Gwen dispatched a bandit runner to accompany them as a messenger. The company departed the treehouse and transited hex 0310 for Galblight without incident, arriving at hex 0409 where they made contact with Captain Lockehorn (Ramius retainer, ruler of Galblight). They described Murkin's planned transit to the Bicorne in detail, bringing Lockehorn into the operation's intelligence picture. They spent the night at Galblight. On the morning of the 18th, under cloudy and misty skies with impaired visibility, they advanced to hex 0309 and moved on Garnack the Horse's (longhorn hedge knight) tower in the early hours. The party presented themselves as holders of Gwen's debt to Garnack and made a proposition regarding the Bicorne, claiming they possessed a secret fairy method of controlling the creature. Garnack, sensing opportunity, agreed to furnish a shorthorn retainer as a messenger and lend his strength to the venture. The party pressed south through hex 0209 and hex 0109, where retainers in the area shared rumors of portals into Fairy near hexes 0209 and 0309. They continued to hex 0108, depositing their new retainers at Timilda's (Crimson Bath proprietor) establishment in Shrivelbyne, and arrived at Kolstoke Keep in hex 0208 by midday. There they enticed Lord Murkin (lord of Kolstoke) to go hunting, and Lady Borrid (noble huntmaster) was summoned. Using the two runners — Gwen's bandit and Garnack's shorthorn — the party communicated to all parties that the 20th of Obthryme would be the date for the attempt. The session closed with the company committed to a tripartite confrontation outside Kolstoke Keep, the full moon rising over a conspiracy whose threads they alone held in hand. ### Party Expenses | Item | Cost | |---|---| | Lodging in Galblight (1 night, 3 persons) | 6 sp | | **Total** | **6 sp** | --- ## Session 8 > *They pledged their hands to two queens who each desired the other's ruin, and the promises they made in the hunting lodge stood in the dark like loaded pistols against the promises they made beneath the trees.* | Field | Detail | |---|---| | **IRL Date** | 02/18/2026 | | **Next Session** | 03/04/2026 | | **Players Present** | 2 | ### Mechanical Summary | Category | Value | |---|---| | Gold Recovered | 0 gp | | Monster XP | 0 | | Treasure XP | 0 | | **Total XP/Player** | **0** `(0 + 0) ÷ 2` | | Retainer Share | None | **Illiquid Treasure:** None ### Temporal Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Date Began | 15 Obthryme | | Date Ended | 16 Obthryme | | Days Elapsed | 2 | | Moon Phase | Waxing Gibbous (Narrow Moon) | | Upcoming Holidays | None | | Weather/Time | Cloudy and misty (Day 15) / Cold wind, gloomy sky (Day 16) / Evening | ### Geographical Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Start Location | Hex 0409 — Galblight | | End Location | Hex 0311 — Bandit Hideout | | Hexes Explored | 0409, 0208, 0109, 0108, 0312, 0311 | ### Party Status | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Deaths | None | | Injuries | None | | New Hirelings | None | | Party Composition | Bendiom Sodwallow (Mossling Hunter 3), Mashker Underbleat (Breggle Knight 3) | ### Chronicle The morning of the 15th of Obthryme found the company at Galblight debating their course amid clouds and mist. They weighed the merits of returning to Lady Borrid (noble huntmaster), collecting on Corundum's debt from Garnack the Horse (longhorn hedge knight) to win Red Gwen's (bandit leader) favor, and sundry other schemes. They resolved at last to strike north toward Borrid's lodge, electing to leave their physical coin behind in Galblight and to bypass Garnack's Tower entirely. On the road through hex 0208 they encountered an elven knight (fairy warrior) astride a fairy horse, who sat composing an ode to the wondrous and tragic beauty of a fallen leaf's mortality. The elf finished his verse and rode off in the general direction of Lady Borrid's domain, leaving the party to their earthbound intrigues. By afternoon they arrived at the hunting lodge in hex 0109 and presented Borrid with a basilisk feather. The conversation turned swiftly to darker matters: the assassination of Lord Murkin (lord of Kolstoke Keep) by means of the Bicorne — a monstrous beast whose pit might serve as both weapon and grave. The plan called for a hunt with Borrid in which Murkin would meet his end, seemingly by misadventure. The party debated at length whether to frame Garnack for the death or simply feed Murkin to the creature outright, and further deliberated whether to settle Garnack's gambling debt themselves or leave it unresolved. They also discussed who might best replace Murkin — his mother, Borrid herself, Red Gwen, or some other candidate. Evening fell and they lodged at the hunting lodge. On the morning of the 16th, under cold wind and a gloomy sky, the company firmed their plans with Borrid and then departed south to Shrivelbyne in hex 0108, intent on sounding local sentiment regarding the succession. At the Crimson Bath they interviewed Timilda (proprietor and community elder), who reported that some twelve knights served at Kolstoke and that Borrid would represent the smoothest transition of power. Timilda also related the rumor that Red Gwen was the sister of Lord Murkin. The party swung south along the West Road, encountering nothing of substance, and arrived on Bove's Road at hex 0312 before turning into hex 0311 to execute a dead drop at the same location they had used previously. They paid Mother Goat (innkeeper) one gold piece for food and lodging, and learned rumors concerning Vagues and that the Inn of the Tankards might be cursed. That evening, Mother Goat delivered a message with instructions directing the party into the woods, where they followed a path to a bowl-like depression. There they met Red Gwen in person and struck a deal — one that directly contradicts the arrangement they had made with Lady Borrid, for both women desire the throne of Kolstoke for themselves. Gwen showed them the gang's hidden treehouse headquarters, and the session ended with the party ensnared in the crosshairs of two mutually exclusive allegiances. ### Party Expenses | Item | Cost | |---|---| | Lodging and food at Mother Goat's | 1 gp | | **Total** | **1 gp** | --- ## Session 7 > *The party learned of a bicorn in its pit and of lords who command the countryside. Lockehorn spoke of Lord Murkin and Lord Malbleat, offering descriptions of both nobles and their holdings. The bicorn's lair, Lockehorn claimed, held treasures of considerable worth. On the eighteenth of Obthryme, the party divided their efforts between hexes 0510 and 0309. Bendiom Sodwallow purchased a spyglass for 2 gold pieces and reconnoitered the bicorn's pit, observing its dimensions, the circling carrion birds, and the scattered bones that spoke of the creature's appetite. Meanwhile, two companions scouted the tower in hex 0309, noting Garnack and shorthorn retainers, and determining that the structure commanded excellent sightlines over the road from its hilltop position. The party reunited at nightfall and secured lodging at the Mannish Miser. The group returned to Galblight and waited three nights for shorthorns to appear. On the twenty-first of Obthryme, they observed seven shorthorns attempting to force entry into a home. The party struck with devastating precision — a critical blow felled one immediately, and two more fell to subsequent attacks while two were subdued alive. The seventh fled into the darkness. Total casualties: four dead, two captured. Lockehorn moved to execute the prisoners summarily, but the party intervened. Lockehorn agreed to send them to Lord Ramius for proper trial. The party then pressed the two surviving shorthorns into service and stuffed the four corpses with lye, attempting to poison the bicorn by feeding it the treated remains. The beast consumed the offerings without apparent effect. ### Party Expenses | Item | Cost | |---|---| | Spyglass | 2 gp | | Lodging (4 nights, 3 people) | 2 gp 4 sp | | **Total** | **4 gp 4 sp** | --- ## Session 5 > *They made of a man a sacrifice to expedience and the coin they took rang with the sound of his death. After delivering the letter, the companions debated at length how to arrange a clandestine meeting with the commander but ultimately elected not to proposition her directly. The company rode instead to Kolstoke Keep where they sought audience with Sir Hmardus Overlock (knight), spinning accusations that the Drune had poisoned Lord Murkin's precious cabbages. Overlock, unimpressed by their evidence, nevertheless offered one thousand gold pieces and a personal favor for information leading to the arrest or death of the saboteurs. The party claimed they would search the woods. They journeyed then to The Crimson Bath, Timilda's inn, where they supped on bear-head-shaped pancakes in celebration of St. Woad's Eve. Over Pooden Pie they hatched a dark scheme. The party resolved to frame Shank Addercapper, a soldier in Snidebleat's unit, for the cabbage poisoning. Inn patrons from Shrivelbyne provided the adventurers with herbicide and a handstitched handkerchief bearing Lord Malbleat's dragon and shield. Near midnight, the party intercepted Addercapper on the road and delivered him bound to Kolstoke Keep. A drunk innocent, pressed into Murkin's service against his will, shared his sorrows with them. On the morning of 13 Obthryme, Addercapper was presented to Sir Hmardus Overlock. The party received their reward of two thousand four hundred gold pieces, paid in ten diamonds and fourteen bearer bonds drawn against the Duke of Brakenwold's credit. Addercapper was tortured and executed. Lord Murkin himself granted the party audience, questioned them on the quality of their capture, and pleased with the outcome, invited them to hunt upon Lady Borrid's lands. Each member departed Kolstoke Keep well-fed and provisioned with seven days of rations. As they left, a clandestine offer reached them: five thousand gold pieces to slay Windore Hoblewort (magician in Malbleat's service) or burn the village of Shagsend, or both. The company discussed their course, recognizing the violent depths of the political strife surrounding them, and resolved to turn their attention away from internecine breggle wars and back toward the wyrm. ### Party Expenses | Item | Cost | |---|---| | Lodging and meal at The Crimson Bath | 1 gp | | **Total** | **1 gp** | --- ## Session 4 > *They walked through drizzle and cold with letters sealed in wax, bearing witness to capering fire-dancers while feathers marked the trail of something that hunted in the dark.* | Field | Detail | |---|---| | **IRL Date** | 10/29/2025 | | **Next Session** | *Missing* | | **Players Present** | 3 | ### Mechanical Summary | Category | Value | |---|---| | Gold Recovered | 5,700 gp | | Monster XP | 0 | | Treasure XP | 5,700 | | **Total XP/Player** | **1,900** `(0 + 5,700) ÷ 3` | | Retainer Share | None | **Illiquid Treasure:** - Two large dark purple feathers (from creature) ### Temporal Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Date Began | 9 Obthryme | | Date Ended | 12 Obthryme | | Days Elapsed | 4 | | Moon Phase | First Quarter (Day 9) to Waxing Gibbous (Day 12) | | Upcoming Holidays | None | | Weather/Time | Clear and cold (Day 9, late afternoon) / Cold, torrential rain (Days 10–11) / Clear and chilly (Day 12) | ### Geographical Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Start Location | Hex 0712 — Bothy | | End Location | Hex 0110 — Lady Borrid's Lodge | | Hexes Explored | 0712, 0611, 0511, 0411, 0312, 0211, 0111, 0110 | ### Party Status | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Deaths | None | | Injuries | None | | New Hirelings | None | | Party Composition | Bendiom Sodwallow (Mossling Hunter 3), Corvus the Breggle (Breggle Fighter 3), Mashker Underbleat (Breggle Knight 3) | ### Chronicle On the late afternoon of the 9th of Obthryme, the party arrived at hex 0712 and encountered Frannidore Woldleap (breggle hermit) dwelling in a bothy at the northern end of the hex. The old breggle bore spiky hair and milky white eyes flecked with blue, wrapped in a coat of rabbit and squirrel fur. Over a shared meal, Frannidore spoke of a pattern the creature followed: every few days it would take a fat cow from the nearby farms. The hermit gifted the party a large dark purple feather. When the party kept watch that night, one among them dozed and heard the beast's approach — the kidnapping of another cow — and discovered a second feather amid the reek of bile and sulphur. A local farmer ventured that the creature might be a wyrm. The party assured Frannidore of their return and paid the hermit five gold pieces before departing. The 10th dawned cold with torrential rains. The party departed the bothy and transited hex 0611, where they glimpsed Magpie's Oak — a twisted ancient tree adorned with shining trinkets and bearing a door in its trunk. By midday they reached hex 0511 and observed the Inn of the Tankards at the oft-trodden junction. Mid-afternoon brought them to hex 0411, where they beheld what appeared to be a prosperous farm compound with well-kept buildings and smoke rising from within. By evening they arrived at hex 0312 and took lodging at Mother Goat's Place, paying one gold piece. They cased the common room but found none who seemed out of place, then learned from a merchant of Lord Nodlock's depravities and negotiated passage to Nodding Castle. The 11th brought more torrential rain and bitter cold. A letter awaited beneath their door that morning, sealed with wax and addressed to Sgt. Snidebleat. The party departed Mother Goat's and traveled Bove's Road, passing the snail's tent at hex 0211 and the wishing pit signs at hex 0111. By late morning they reached Nodding Castle and received 5,400 gold pieces in bank notes for the cheese. The merchant collected a 600 gold piece finder's fee. Departing mid-afternoon for hex 0111, they encountered ten woodgrues (demi-fey) at hex 0110 — capering through the woods, laughing while recklessly blowing flammable oil into burning torches, producing great gouts of flame, theatrically fading in and out of sight. Shortly thereafter they met four peddlers (travelers) selling Black Clover; the group declined to purchase. Just after nightfall they arrived at Lady Borrid's Lodge. Lady Borrid (noblewoman and huntmaster) asked the party to serve as her representatives near High-Hankle to keep watch on the wyrm. She gifted each party member a 100 gold piece diamond and offered them lodging for the night. On the morning of the 12th of Obthryme, clear and chilly, the party attempted to gather intelligence on Lady Borrid's intentions regarding Lord Murkin (nobleman) but met with little success. The group also discussed the possibility of framing Lord Nodlock for the cabbage situation to reduce suspicion on Timilda the Breggle. ### Party Expenses | Item | Cost | |---|---| | Shared meal with Frannidore | 1 ration | | Payment to Frannidore | 5 gp | | Lodging at Mother Goat's Place | 1 gp | | **Total** | **6 gp** (plus 1 ration consumed) | --- ## Session 3 > *They wandered through enchanted country where rooms exceed their boundaries, bearing with them messages for the innkeeper of wolves while the moon waxed toward its quarter.* | Field | Detail | |---|---| | **IRL Date** | 10/14/2025 | | **Next Session** | *To be determined* | | **Players Present** | 2 | ### Mechanical Summary | Category | Value | |---|---| | Gold Recovered | 0 gp | | Monster XP | 0 | | Treasure XP | 0 | | **Total XP/Player** | **0** `(0 + 0) ÷ 2` | | Retainer Share | None | **Illiquid Treasure:** - Cabbage poison (discovered at The Crimson Bath basement) ### Temporal Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Date Began | 5 Obthryme | | Date Ended | 9 Obthryme | | Days Elapsed | 5 | | Moon Phase | First Quarter | | Upcoming Holidays | None | | Weather/Time | Clear, crisp, and cold (days 7–9) / Evening arrival (day 5) | ### Geographical Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Start Location | Hex 0305 — The Boggin's Lamp | | End Location | Hex 0712 — Derelict Windmill | | Hexes Explored | 0305, 0106, 0107, 0108, 0109, 0110, 0111, 0211, 0312, 0511, 0512, 0611, 0711, 0712 | ### Party Status | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Deaths | None | | Injuries | None | | New Hirelings | None | | Party Composition | Bendiom Sodwallow (Mossling Hunter 3), Mashker Underbleat (Breggle Knight 3) | ### Chronicle The party arrived at the Boggin's Lamp inn as darkness fell on the 5th of Obthryme. Within the homely establishment they encountered Smauvol Oddnum (innkeeper), who served them from his bottle-lined nook while three Drune cottagers conversed quietly in a corner. The inn's peculiar architecture revealed rooms that seemed impossibly larger within than without. The party relayed their tale of the Cheese-Fiend's defeat to the innkeeper, then sought counsel from Lady Borrid (huntmaster) regarding new employment. Borrid demurred on formal obligations but asked the party to work discreetly, investigating missing cattle near hex 0712. Borrid also mentioned rumors of a tapestry at Maidenhead Priory to the southwest, though she downplayed its significance. On the morning of the 6th, the party departed southward, traversing hex 0106 where they spied a large granite crag. Two braithmaids (Drune daughters) were spotted in the distance, and the party successfully resisted their enchanted songs. They moved rapidly through hexes 0107 and 0108, arriving at The Crimson Bath inn that evening. Timilda (proprietor) attempted to dissemble about her basement, but the party gathered intelligence on wolves near Mother Goat's place. They bought out the bar for 2 gp, hoping to make the patrons sleep soundly, then successfully navigated to the basement trapdoor where they discovered cabbage poison. On the 7th, under bracing winds and cold skies, they traveled south along the West Road and Bove's Road, passing through hexes 0109, 0110, 0111 (where they saw signs for the wishing pit), and 0211. They arrived at Mother Goat's Place in hex 0312 at sunset. Mother Goat (innkeeper) served them two of her special dishes and shared two rumors: one about Lankshorn concerning the Berkmaster's mistress and provisions sent to a woodland hut, and one about High-Hankle regarding stone faces in the grasslands to the southeast. On the 8th, they continued southeast via Bove's Road, passing through hexes 0511 (the Ditchway), 0512, and 0611, then onto Swallop Road to arrive at The Quivering Doily inn in hex 0711. They paid 24 sp for mead and 1 gp for lodging. On the 9th, under clear cold skies, they left tribute at King Pusskin's roadside shrine before arriving at hex 0712. They observed the derelict windmill, noting its window configuration. ### Party Expenses | Item | Cost | |---|---| | Night 1 (Boggin's Lamp) | 4 sp | | Night 2 (The Crimson Bath) | 2 gp 4 sp | | Night 3 (Mother Goat's) | 1 gp 2 sp | | Night 4 (The Quivering Doily) | 3 gp 4 sp | | **Total** | **7 gp 4 sp** | --- ## Session 2 > *The party bartered their freedom with letters to be delivered while Lady Borrid's hunters pursued something that should not exist — a creature made entirely of cheese — through woods where strange sensations mark ancient boundaries.* | Field | Detail | |---|---| | **IRL Date** | 09/23/2025 | | **Next Session** | 10/14/2025 | | **Players Present** | 3 | ### Mechanical Summary | Category | Value | |---|---| | Gold Recovered | 1,200 gp | | Monster XP | 1,350 | | Treasure XP | 1,200 | | **Total XP/Player** | **850** `(1,350 + 1,200) ÷ 3` | | Retainer Share | None | **Illiquid Treasure:** - Copper bracelet with knot engraving (worth 200 gp) - Unidentified ring - 3 wheels of cheese (worth 2,000 gp each) ### Temporal Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Date Began | 2 Obthryme | | Date Ended | 5 Obthryme | | Days Elapsed | 4 | | Moon Phase | Waxing Crescent | | Upcoming Holidays | None | | Weather/Time | Bracing wind from north / Near sunset | ### Geographical Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Start Location | Hex 0109 — Lady Borrid's Hunting Lodge | | End Location | Hex 0305 — The Boggin's Lamp | | Hexes Explored | 0109, 0108, 0107, 0206, 0405, 0305 | ### Party Status | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Deaths | None | | Injuries | None | | New Hirelings | None (Eli the Trotteling befriended but not hired) | | Party Composition | Bendiom Sodwallow (Mossling H3), Corvus the Breggle (Breggle F3), Mashker Underbleat (Breggle K3) | ### Chronicle The morning brought negotiations with Sergeant Snidebleat (Malbleat officer), who agreed to release the party from Murkin Service on the condition they deliver a letter to Mother Goat's Place — should they survive their northern journey. Lady Borrid (noble huntmaster) facilitated the arrangement before departing for her campsite north along Kolstoke Keep's fields. The party joined Borrid's hunting expedition, passing blackened crown cabbages whose scent matched the previous evening's tavern basement. At the Weeping Woman statue in hex 0107, they bottled healing waters while Borrid's hunters mocked tales of Lord Neveryon dreams. Near Maidenhead Priory, Mashker experienced alternating sensations of balmy heat and biting cold. The party gathered two portions of wolfsbane along the way. Lady Borrid granted the afternoon for hunting, during which the party successfully stalked eight trottelings but chose mercy over slaughter, befriending one they named Eli. The hunters set elaborate traps — fire snares and a massive falling log trap baited with cheese — in preparation for the Cheese-Fiend. On the morning of the 5th, the creature took the bait. The log trap dealt 24 damage, Borrid's hunters added 18 with arrows, and the party delivered 20 more damage before a lance strike ended the monstrosity. In the foul hut they discovered 18 kunzites (giving 6 to Borrid's hunters, keeping 12), a copper bracelet with knot engravings, and an unidentified ring. Each party member carved a wheel of cheese from the creature's corpse. The expedition ended at the Boggin's Lamp inn as darkness fell. ### Party Expenses None --- ## Session 1 > *Three unlikely companions ventured from Kolstoke Keep into the brooding woods, drawn by whispers of a cheese demon while a mossling's fevered visions revealed strange dreams.* | Field | Detail | |---|---| | **IRL Date** | 09/09/2025 | | **Next Session** | 09/23/2025 | | **Players Present** | 3 | ### Mechanical Summary | Category | Value | |---|---| | Gold Recovered | 0 gp | | Monster XP | 0 | | Treasure XP | 0 | | **Total XP/Player** | **0** `(0 + 0) ÷ 3` | | Retainer Share | None | **Illiquid Treasure:** None ### Temporal Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Date Began | 1 Obthryme | | Date Ended | 2 Obthryme | | Days Elapsed | 2 | | Moon Phase | New | | Upcoming Holidays | None | | Weather/Time | Brooding clouds / Early afternoon | ### Geographical Tracking | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Start Location | Kolstoke Keep | | End Location | Hex 0109 — Borrid's Hunting Lodge | | Hexes Explored | 0109 | ### Party Status | Field | Detail | |---|---| | Deaths | None | | Injuries | None | | New Hirelings | None | | Party Composition | Bendiom Sodwallow (Mossling H3), Corvus the Breggle (Breggle F3), Mashker Underbleat (Breggle K3) | ### Chronicle The party initiated their journey at Kolstoke Keep, where Sir Hmardus Overlock (knight) granted them entry and audience. The knight directed them to Sgt. Snidebleat (sergeant) while warning them to avoid Lady Leann Borrid (noblewoman). Following these instructions, the adventurers departed for the town of Shrivelborne. At the Crimson Bath inn, they encountered Timilda Brumble (proprietor), who served them amid a peculiar smell wafting from the basement. The evening nearly erupted into violence when a raucous group of Malbleat soldiers (4 humans, 4 breggles) confronted the party, though cooler heads prevailed. That night, after consuming some questionable cheese, Bendiom experienced vivid dreams. Come morning, the party ventured into the woods of hex 0109, where they discovered Borrid's Hunting Lodge adorned with various trophies. Learning that Lady Borrid and her hunters pursued some manner of cheese demon to the north, the party elected to follow their trail. ### Party Expenses | Item | Cost | |---|---| | Rations (2 days) | 6 sp | | Pies | 6 sp | | Lodging | 6 sp | | Round of ale | 16 sp | | 3 bedrolls | *Missing* | | Tent | *Missing* | | Rations (7 days) | *Missing* | | **Total** | **3 gp 4 sp** (plus equipment costs) |
