The **Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program** **(CREP)** is a subsidiary program under CRP that targets specific state or national conservation priorities. It is a partnership between the federal government (FSA) and state agencies, tribes, or non-governmental organizations. Under CREP, the federal government and the partner entity jointly provide financial incentives to encourage farmers to enroll in the program. The partner entity (state, tribe, or NGO) contributes additional funding and resources to address specific environmental issues of regional or state importance. CREP contracts are typically longer than CRP contracts, often 10-15 years, with additional incentive payments from the partner entity.
