Considering Abilities are the primary mechanism by which characters are build, it makes sense that they are where a good bulk of the features of the Cypher ruleset all come together. ### Main Tab The main tab of the ability contains basic information for that ability. - **Type.** This is a generic text field that can be used to sort, organize, or categories different types of abilities. - **Use Type.** Enabler or Action. Enabler actions do not show many of the other properties, while Actions do* - **Can Select.** Once or Multiple times. This lets the system know whether an ability can be selected multiple times when building a character or advancing. - **Use Equipped.** Does this ability have an attack or damage action that should be based on the equipped weapon. - **Recharge.** Determines whether the ability can be used a limited number of times. Options include: - **On any recovery action.** The ability will be recharged when any recovery - **On the first recovery of the day.** The ability will only recharge when the Action recovery is taken - **On the last recovery of the day.** The ability will only recharge when the 10 Hour recovery is taken - **Manually.** The ability will not automatically recharge, and must be manually readied. - **Uses per Period.** If an ability has a set recharge time, then this field controls how many times the ability can be used before recharging. - **Cost.** This is the amount of stats that must be spent to activate this ability. - **Cost Stat.** This is the stat pool from which the cost must be spent to activate this ability. \* The cypher system rulebook often lists Enabler abilities with activation costs. A lot of these instances feel like mistakes or otherwise don't make sense (why would a passive ability need to be activated?), and so the cost section is only visible for Action types. !abilities_main.png ### Actions Tab The actions tab contains a list of actions that are relevant to using the ability. These can be added by clicking the buttons in the Properties header. Read more about Roll Actions here. These roll actions are made available to a player on the Actions Tab of their character sheet in the Abilities section. !abilities_actions.png ### Other Tab The other tab contains a list of Features that are automatically applied to the character along with the ability. !abilities_other.png
