All of the standard character advancement options can be handled automatically. In order to take an advancement the character must have 4 XP available, which is then deducted when taking the advancement. Below are examples of the various advancements and how you can take them. ## Core Advancements ### Increase Stats This advancement lets you allocate four stat points to any of your pools. ![advancements_stats](advancements_stats.gif) ### Increase Effort This advancement increases your effort by 1. ![advancements_effort](advancements_effort.gif) ### Increase Edge This advancement gives lets you select which edge you would like to increase by 1. ![advancements_edge](advancements_edge.gif) ### Train in a Skill This advancement will allow you to gain training in a skill you already have, gain training in a new skill, or gain training in an ability that require some kind of d20 roll. ![advancements_skill](advancements_skill.gif) ## Other Options ### Select a New Ability This advancement gives you a list of your Type's abilities available to you to take. If you are tier 3 or higher, there's also the option to take the other tier 3 Focus ability.
