# 20231008 ☕️ Sunday Morning Coffee Notes Three `random notes` from my Obsidian vault, today's `music` selection from MailTape, and a `photo` from the past week from my phone. --- ## 📸 "Sunset from Waterrock Knob Overlook" ![[Sunset from Waterrock Knob Overlook.jpg]] #photo #sunset This is from the Blue Ridge Parkway west of Asheville, NC, last week. Majestic view! Last Monday night, we saw an astonishing sight while stargazing -- a straight line of lights, irregularly spaced, moving in formation towards the southwest at an angle of about 20 degrees from the horizon. As they approached a certain point, they disappeared one-by-one, so clearly they were illuminated by the sun before passing into the Earth's shadow. Meaning they were very high up. 🧪 We figured that either the alien invasion was beginning... or we were seeing an unusual trail of satellites. Turns out SpaceX had launched 21 StarLink communication satellites on six days earlier, and it takes a few weeks or so for them to settle into their permanent orbit positions. But until we got back to the cabin and googled "[straight line of lights in the sky](https://www.google.com/search?q=straight+line+of+lights+in+the+sky)", we were both thinking _Close Encounters of the Third Kind_. --- ## ![[Open random note.png]] Three notes from the Random Note core plugin. This is how I am dipping my toe into [Obsidian Publish](https://publish.obsidian.md) by adding at least 3 notes per week from my library of 6500+ notes. --- ## 🎲 [[Lyssn.io]] (2022) My note from last year about Lyssn.io, about an #AI clinical product that listens in to therapy sessions (with permission of patient and therapist) and measures how well one uses motivational interviewing #MI and #CBT techniques. It also can prompt the therapist to improve their skills in these areas. It is also said to be able to create a progress note based on a session. I still have a lot of questions about how well it works, the training sets used, types of clinical scenarios trained with (eg, psychiatrists vs other types of therapists, sign/symptom assessment, psychosis, PTSD, SUD, etc). Still, I think this could be very helpful, especially when combined with supervision, in collaborative care #CoCM settings, and to aid in coaching for motivational interviewing. Every Sunday night I and another Healant clinician had an hour-long scheduled chatroom that focused on depression. It was educational in nature and a scrolling chat, so a bit hard to follow unless one was used to this type of chatroom. I kept a small #notebook of the topics discussed and how many people were in the chatroom. In this note, you can see that the participant count peaked at 9:30pm at 19 people. This was back when one could only join if you were an AOL subscriber. When I came in as a host, there were often lots of questions about medications. I learned the art of being educational, without crossing the line into providing medical advice. We had disclaimers, but you really had to be clear about that line. Speaking in generalities and encouraging discussion with one's doctor was part of it. In this chat, there were questions about weight gain with certain meds; using Remeron as an as-needed (prn) medication; the removal of the hypnotic drug, Halcion, from the market; drug-drug interactions; St John's wort for depression; and grapefruit interactions. Healant had about 3 other clinical forums on AOL. I recall them being about pain, natural remedies, and addiction. --- ## 🎲 [[Top Notes w Incoming links|Top 30 Notes with Incoming Links]] (2023) #obsidian #dataview This is a dataview note with the top 30 markdown notes sorted by the number of incoming links. Obsidian (and some other #markdown note processing software) can display all notes that have a link coming in to them. So, the [[Home]] note has (at the time of this writing) 37 links across all other notes that links to the Home note. This changes dynamically as notes are added or updated. I have not yet seen how Obsidian Publish handles Dataview markdown documents, so I will soon find out when I click the `Publish` button. If successful, readers will see three columns -- file names, # of outgoing links from that file, and # of incoming links to that file. (Note that only files that I have already published can be viewed... clicking on unpublished files will provide an error message that the file has not been created yet, though it is created on my computer, just not published. If a reader asks me to publish one of those files, I will unless it contains sensitive or nonpublishable information. Message me on BlueSky or on XTwitter, links below.) Update: Okay, plugins don't work in `Publish`. Yet. --- ## ![[logo.mailtape.png|64]] #528 - [The Humble Bee](https://www.mailta.pe/528/the-humble-bee/) #mailtape/bliss There was no new MailTape mix this morning, so randomly picked this one from the UK's [The Humble Bee](https://thehumblebee.bandcamp.com). This is the first MailTape mix I have seen where all seven selections (there are always 7) are the same mood ("bliss"). These are mostly calming, ambient pieces, though a couple I found annoying. --- [[20231001 ☕️ Sunday Morning Coffee Notes|Prior]] <> [[20231022 ☕️ Sunday Morning Coffee Notes|Next]] [[20230625 Thinking about ☕️ Sunday Morning Coffee Notes|About coffee notes]] [[Home#Contact|Contact me]]
