This is how I am dipping my toe into [Obsidian Publish](https://publish.obsidian.md) by adding at least 3 notes per week from my library of 6300+ notes. --- ## 🎲 [[20200929.1128 NY-Fingerlakes Blueberry Patch Trail book|Blueberry Patch Trail Book]] (2020) #trail #hiking I went camping and hiking in Sept 2020 in the New York Finger Lakes area. This was still in the first 6 months of the pandemic, and the etiquette on the trails at that time was to have a mask at the ready and put it on just before passing someone else on the trail (if we could not maintain a 6-foot distance). At the foot of this [Blueberry Patch trail](https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-york/blueberry-trail) is a fence post with a log book (in a covered bin) for hikers to put a note in. It went back to 2011, and I found it interesting to read some of the notes, taking a few pics and transcribed the notes. Why? Adds to the flavor and richness of the trip. The 2020 messages did not much reference the pandemic at all -- mostly about frogs and salamanders and where people are from and personal accomplishments (eg, "hiked this trail after 6 ankle surgeries AND I DID IT!"). --- ## 🎲 [[19870113 BN87-001 Dream|Page from a Dream Notebook]] (1987) #notebook #BN87 I was in med school at this time, and taking a mini-mester class on Dreams, and it was taught by this very smart psychologist, [[Norman Bradford]], who was this interesting character -- very thin, tall, with a full, birds-nest-type beard that hung down past his sternum. The assignment was to keep a notebook of our dreams during the course. For this page, perhaps I was still half-asleep when I wrote it. I did my best to transcribe what I wrote, but this is pretty sketchy. Or, the dream was sketchy. If you follow the link inside to the #BN87 notebook, you can see how I arrange my notebooks in #Obsidian. For those interested, here is the YAML I use for each notebook: ``` --- notebook: description: begindate: lastdate: capacity: tags: NBkey: [;:... ] added: --- ``` The `NBkey` field is a sort of Xray of the notebook. Each character in the brackets represents 10 pages, so what you see above would be a notebook with about 70 pages, with the first 10 pages summarized (like a table of contents), the second 10 pages has been transcribed, and the next 30 pages have content that has not been summarized or transcribed. The last 20 pages remain unused. - A `space` indicates blank pages. - A `period` indicates that some of those 10 pages it represents has content written on it. - A `semicolon` indicates that the content on those pages has been summarized in Obsidian note(s). - A `colon` indicates that the the content on those pages has been transcribed. I do have a whole schema for both my physical notebooks and the Obsidian notes to make them searchable and to permit some Dataview magic. Hit me up on Bluesky or x-Tw if you want more about that. --- ## 🎲 [[21st Century Cures - Summary (fr APA DGR)]] (2017) #CuresAct #SAMHSA A summary (from the APA) of the **21st Century Cures Act** from 2017, which did quite a few things to address gaps in mental health and addiction treatment services.
