# 20230806 ☕️ Sunday Morning Coffee Notes
Three `random notes` from my Obsidian vault, today's `music` selection from MailTape, and a `photo` from the past week from my phone.

## 📸 "Shredded"

#photo #privacy
Yesterday began a 9-day "staycation", as Eddie had to stay with us, which derailed plans for Oak Isle. So decluttering the basement storage area will be my big task for the week. Yesterday, I shredded 4 boxes of papers (20+year old patient records, claims, payment records, bills, etc) into 5 boxes of shredded confetti for recycling. Love this shredder from Costco -- $109 for a "Microcut" crosscut shredder that will easily eat a stack of 18 sheets of paper.

Three notes from the Random Note core plugin. This is how I am dipping my toe into [Obsidian Publish](https://publish.obsidian.md) by adding at least 3 notes per week from my library of 6200+ notes.

## 🎲 [[2010s.Pt-centered blogs]] (2009)
This was from an undated Levenger index card. Based on the surrounding papers in this sedimentation pile, it is from the 2008-2010 era. I was still actively blogging on [Shrink Rap](http://www.shrinkrap.net), and gave some talks about risks/benefits of putting out one's personal information. These two citations were from a consumer/patient perspective.
- Judy Proudfoot's talk may have stemmed from this [2008 Toronto presentation](https://www.slideshare.net/eysen/methodological-issues-and-challenges-in-ehealth-research-panel-aud-900-proudfoot-panel-presentation) at Medicine 2.0.
- Benjamin Hughes' wrote a [JMIR article](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2553249/) expanding on this.
- The comment about empowerment comes from [this 2009 JMIR article](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18653442/) by Uden-Kraan.

## 🎲 [[20130926 HL7 THURSDAY]] (2013)
Day 4 of a 5-day #HL7 WGM (work group meeting) in Boston in September of 2013. (_I can add the other days if anyone wants._)
Previous to this, I had been attending WGM meetings (and the BH calls) to represent APA interests as Chair of the Committee on Mental Health and Information Technology #APA/CMHIT (which was formerly the Committee on EHRs).
- In July 2013, I left my position as Chair of Psychiatry at University of Maryland's [BWMC hospital](https://www.umms.org/bwmc/health-services/behavioral-health) after 9 years there.
- I took a 1-year "Sabbatical" 2013-14 to focus on how to make a living bringing my healthcare experience to health IT, standards, and healthcare policy. My goal was to move from helping patients one at a time to having a broader impact on populations and the healthcare system, especially around integration of BH into the rest of healthcare.
- That is when I founded a consulting company to embody this new full-time direction. It proved successful, with about 8 clients, leading to later opportunities, including #CHQI, #SAMHSA, #Mindoula, AbsoluteCare, and #optum.
