## Overview First warm week of spring. Fully into [[planting]] season with phone ringing to fill in gaps from the winter. Finish week in Charleston for bridge run. ## Projects #### Cooper River Bridge Run Finished with chip time of 50:18. Did not meet understated goals of improving overall 10k time but learned a lot about race prep and [[psychology]]. Worth talking about all these things but reminding myself that just being out there and enjoying myself is [[enough]]. Waiting on groundcover to arrive next week to finish out that section. Client would like to attempt to install hardscapes without rain garden this spring. #### Doyle Rd Pushing through a lack of sense and low design confidence to try and meet a deadline of delivering a developed concept by Wednesday. Have lost the creative energy the project was generating in February and now standing at the desk in an attempt to fake it. Running into an issue with the site model not picking up its graphic settings. I will figure this out over the next few weeks. One solution is to close and reopen the drawing. Final push of refining concept and moving on to documentation. Some snafus with existing light analysis sheet and graphic properties of site model. When components are added to the site model but not enabled, the model takes on the graphic properties specified in the attribute palette. To resolve, either remove the components, or enable and switch off the classes to revert to graphic properties in site model settings. Viewports cannot be grouped together. It messes with how VW reads class visibility and renders when updating. Hard push toward conceptual documentation. Experimenting with a certain amount of open-endedness in order to facilitate discussion during review, rather than pressuring myself to provide fully-prepared schematics. In process, noticing that I have viewport annotations spread out through several classes, that may be better consolidated into one or two. ## Topics #### Dream 2024-04-02 Fellow bosun from *Sørlandet* set up a sailmaking factory between the water tanks in the ship’s waist. Basically a giant wooden loom and the crew would line up along the outboard side and flake bolts of cloth to be stored on top of the tank. He tried to find someone to take over production and the 1st Officer did it for awhile, but ultimately it ended up abandoned in the jungle. Somehow I found it while out exploring. While looking through the remains, he showed up with an orange cat who was immediate friends with Sassafras. ## Reflections #### 2025-03-31 Sister called last night upset over some drama with a friend. Noticed some shared patterns and helped clarify my own feelings around losing someone important to me over the past few weeks. Today those feelings translating into [[anger in an emotional ecology|anger]]. I am feeling like I was discarded for not showing up perfectly, despite showing up honestly, with the additional complication that I was never given any specific feedback on what was needed from me. #### 2025-04-03 A sense of calm amid chaos today while going through the first iteration of spring [[planting]] routine. The usual inspiration that occurs with seeing a garden and landscape evolve, adding the next step, having the next conversation, but without the sense of stress that narrows into a laser focus on the todo list. Feeling a sense of mastery in the process and with it a mastery within myself.
