↑ [[2024-10]] ← [[2024-W41]] ## Overview Week starting off slow with brief visit from Sister before heading north to Charlottesville, then returning mid-week to attend state fair. Frustrations beginning to stack up toward end of the week, feeling leaned upon by clients and friends for support that others should be providing. An element of self-pity running through my mindset, annoyance at a lack of reciprocity in the amount of generosity I extend to others. Likely this feeling needs to be acknowledged and burn away. ## Projects #### Nancy Ann Dr Researching CoR [Rainwater Rewards](https://raleighnc.gov/stormwater/services/apply-raleigh-rainwater-rewards) program. Full notes in KED vault. Taking on site inventory of locations for infrastructure of backyard drainage. Lots of math to do. Getting basic values for calculating rain garden size. Rounding up to accommodate request to treat all runoff on property. Research for this took about 45min. I think I am overthinking it (no surprise there), and just need to work with a rough over estimate to create baseline geometry, then test a design using EPA calculator. #### National Stormwater Calculator Running through several scenarios using above project as a beta. Provides for a number of variables and implementing SWI devices and saving different scenarios. I need to review the [users guide](https://www.epa.gov/system/files/documents/2022-08/National%20Stormwater%20Calculator%20Web%20App%20User%20Guide-Version%203.4.0.pdf) to understand exactly how the data translates graphically. #### Business Development Dusting off and reviewing business development documents in preparation for revising existing business plan. Have followed through on many line items from 2021, the only exceptions being the punch list for automating administrative tasks that have now become second nature. It is helpful for guiding decision making to a degree in that it discerns patterns of exchange between social classes and legal entities, however it is too generalized to be considered an accurate portrait of individual, or even collective, reality. It provides a good demonstration of methods of abstraction, something is either separated from its context and examined in great detail (laboratory abstraction, microeconomics), or all remotely similar patterns are lumped together into a nebulous, generalized shape that illustrates a trend, but does not provide specific data (gestalt abstraction, macroeconomics). [[strength training as asana]] #### Layers of Awareness Thinking this morning about the various models for meaning between valences, [[chakras]], and the koshas. While sitting, noticing how the mind can maintain awareness of internal and external events without losing focus on the point of awareness, whether it be [[the breath]] or a specific point on the body or in space. The experience suggests that penetrating each stage does not annihilate the previous one, it merely adds an additional layer to the medley of variables in one's awareness. So each model might be assimilated into a broader one called **layers of awareness**. For simplicity we might consider these subliminal, liminal, and supraliminal. Subliminal might be considered the [[The kosha model#Vijnanamaya kosha|wisdom sheath]], operating below conscious awareness but still dispensing information. Liminal operates at the edge of awareness, the hunger or energetic sheath? Supraliminal at [[The kosha model#Manomaya Kosha|mental sheath]] for sure, where language is available. Good opportunity. ## Reflections #### 2024-10-14 Experiencing an interesting combination of mental fog combined with physical clarity. The feeling in my head is one of uncertainty and discomfort, while the feeling in my body is one of ease and serenity. My mind had desires unmet, my body is fulfilled. The latter makes the former easily manageable, I’m able to recognize the transience of mental desires and the stability of physical need. **Gemini 12th House:** Noticing how a need to gather information is a means of self-undoing, particularly when a situation is unknown and contrasts with my desires. I will create a parallel story to fill the gaps in my knowledge and maintain my discomfort, rather than trusting my senses and intuition. Further, my method of data gathering exists entirely within the realm of gossip or social media. It is not substantiated through rigor, yet I accept it as true and it seems to become so. I have known for awhile that my self-talk and inner chatter is a source of deception, but I've not connected the actual seeking of verification until now. I always succeed by occupying the place of [[deep okayness]], watching, waiting, and responding to what arises. #### 2024-10-16 Feeling the effects of this oncoming full moon beginning to square Mars. Low concentration, urge to be active, sleeping lightly. But happiness level and mood remaining stable as I navigate and respond to the various feelings. Have categorically grown beyond my outdated habits.
