# Scriptural Reference “Daniel spoke, saying, “I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the Great Sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other. The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. [Daniel 7:2-4](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207%3A2-4&version=NKJV) # What We Can Surmise - Lions represent ultimate power.  Think Lion of the tribe of Judah, or king of the beasts.  I believe the Eagle reference of this beast helps identify it.  The USA is the most powerful nation at this time, and the wings of the eagle I believe represent its ability to project its power, and of course it is part of the USA’s official symbol. - Its state is listed as having its wings plucked off, made to stand on its feet, and given a man’s heart. All three seem to indicate something happens that degrades its power. - As a one world order would have to account for this nation, I believe that is why it is part of the first beast. # My Current View I believe this is the same power as the goat in [Daniel 8](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207%3A2-4&version=NKJV) and there you will find some details about the events that lead to the state of this beast as listed in [Daniel 7](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207&version=NKJV).  There we find “ Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven.”  The broken part of this I believe is related to the lion’s attributes listed above. - The “plucked wings” could mean their ability to project power is reduced or lost. This could be something like losing most or all of their aircraft carriers for instance. - The “stand on its own two feet” being stand on its own, or loss of allies. - The “given a man’s heart” is a humbling from having a Lion’s heart before, possibly a large  defeat in battle, such as after Taiwan maybe?. The Lion represents the USA which starts as the most powerful country, but is reduced to just one of the three in a humbled, degraded state after its attack on Iran.  That attack itself is probably not what humbles it, as it seems to be a bit puffed up after that attack, but is something that seems to happen shortly after, which I believe is losing a battle with China at Taiwan, and in that process loses a significant portion of its aircraft carriers, and its actions cause it to lose a significant portion of its allies at the same time.   The lion later shows up again as part of the first beast of [Revelation 13:1-2](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation%2013%3A1-2&version=NKJV), which I believe means it joins an alliance that forms a one world order (there is evidence that this will be The Earth Alliance which may be based on nations in the [Artemis Accords](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemis_Accords) as referenced in [Revelation 13:2](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation%2013%3A2&version=NKJV) where the first beast has all three of [Daniel 7](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207&version=NKJV)’s beasts as part of it. There is a reference to these beasts actually outliving the first beast ([Daniel 7:11-12](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207%3A11-12&version=NKJV)), which could point to a short period of time right near the end of time that the alliance falls apart and they are left on their own again. Note the order of the beasts mirrors their appearance on the world stage in their current iterations, USA in 1776, communist Russia in 1917, and communist China in 1949, so the fourth beast should come after them. <span class="center-menu">[[Home Page]]</span>
