# Scriptural Reference After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. [Daniel 7:7](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207%3A7&version=NKJV) # What We Can Surmise - Compare this beast to [Revelation 13:1-2](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation%2013%3A1-2&version=NKJV), I believe these are the same beast, with Revelation’s version having the core elements of the first three beasts of [Daniel 7](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207&version=NKJV) melded into one “different” kind of beast, and alliance, or order, as opposed to a single nation. - The beginning statement “After this I saw in the night visions” [Daniel 7:7](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207%3A7&version=NKJV) suggests to me this beast comes into being only after the other beasts are on the world stage in the state that is mentioned for each. - This beast will become a major focus for both Daniel and Revelation as is represented by Daniel's focus on it, “Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others” [Daniel 7:19](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207%3A19&version=NKJV). - Once this beast is on the main stage of prophecy and world events, the other beasts of Daniel 7 have no major role in world events.  They are only mentioned again as having outlived the first beast ([Daniel 7:11-12](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207%3A11-12&version=NKJV)), but only for a short time and no major events are attributed to them then. # My Current View I strongly believe that this beast is the same as the first beast of [Revelation 13:1-2](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation%2013%3A1-2&version=NKJV).
