# Scriptural Reference And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: ‘Arise, devour much flesh!’ [Daniel 7:5](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207%3A5&version=NKJV)  # What We Can Surmise - Russia is the bear - Russia invaded Chechnya in 1999, Georgia in 2008, and Crimea in 2014.  I believe these are the three ribs in the bear's mouth. - The bear hunched shows it is ready to strike again, or in the process of striking again.  This is the Ukraine war going on now.  This is a strong indicator that this is our position in the timeline of the events of Daniel and Revelation. - “Arise, devour much flesh”.  No better description can be given of the Ukrainian war.  The term “meat waves” is the same as the news uses to describe the tactics of the Russian forces. Close to half a million have died there so far. - As a one world order would have to account for this nation, I believe that is why it is part of the first beast. # My Current View This is Russia, and it perfectly describes the state of it right now.  It will probably be the state for a while so when the USA and China meet their described states, the bear will be in this same state. It later shows up again as part of the first beast of [Revelation 13:1-2](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation%2013%3A1-2&version=NKJV),  which I believe means it joins an alliance that forms a one world order (there is evidence that this will be The Earth Alliance which may be based on nations in the [Artemis Accords](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemis_Accords)) as referenced in [Revelation 13:2](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation%2013%3A2&version=NKJV) where the first beast has all three of [Daniel 7](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207&version=NKJV)’s beasts as part of it. Note the order of the beasts mirrors their appearance on the world stage in their current iterations, USA in 1776, Russia in 1917, and communist China in 1949, so the fourth beast should come after them. <span class="center-menu">[[Home Page]]</span>
