To make the game more interesting here is a chart to see what kind of gems that you players find. It's kind of boring to just say that you found 3 gems worth 50gp each. Now you can roll to see what the base value of the gem would be, then how many carats and the to see what kind of gem it is based on what you rolled. All the gems have a description and what type of powers that it could have or be used for. Now your players might get some ideas on what they could do with the gems rather that just treating them as something that is just worth money. # Step One You need to roll on this chart to see the base amount the gem is worth ## Base Value Chart | Roll | GP Value | | ----- | -------- | | 01-29 | 10 | | 30-44 | 20 | | 45-59 | 25 | | 60-69 | 50 | | 70-77 | 75 | | 78-84 | 100 | | 85-91 | 150 | | 92-95 | 200 | | 96-98 | 500 | | 99-00 | 1000 | And then roll on this chart to see how many carats the gem is ## Gem Carat Chart | Roll | Carat | | ----- | --------- | | 01-30 | 1 | | 31-60 | 2 | | 61-70 | 3 | | 71-75 | 4 | | 76-80 | 5 | | 81-85 | 6-9 (1d4) | | 86-90 | 10 | | 91-95 | 20-50 | | 96-98 | 20-70 (x) | | 99 | 30-80 (x) | | 00 | 100 (x) | | (x)-Roll Again | Carat | | -------------- | -------- | | 86-98 | 100-300 | | 99 | 200-500 | | 00 | 500-1000 | # Step Two Then click on the appropriate base value and it will bring you to appropriate chart to roll to see what type of gem your players find. | [[10gp-25gp Gem Base Value (Ornamental Stone)]] | | -------------------------------------------------- | | [[50gp-75gp Gem Base Value (Semiprecious Stone)]] | | [[100gp Gem Base Value (Fancy Stone)]] | | [[150gp -200gp Gem Base Value (Precious Stones)]] | | [[500gp Gem Base Value (Gem Stones)]] | | [[1000gp Gem Base Value (Jewel Stones)]] | Here is an example of how it works, you roll a 81, you go to the Base Value chart and see that your gem has a base value of 100gp. Next you would roll on the Gem Carat chart, say you roll a 77, you see that your gem is 5 carats. Then you would go to step two and click on [[100gp Gem Base Value (Fancy Stone)]] and roll to see what kind of gem your player finds. Say you roll a 95 on that chart, the Gem would be a [[Waterstar]]. So your players find a [[Waterstar]] that has a base value of 100gp and is 5 carats so the Gem would be worth 500gp. You can also tell them the description and potential powers or uses for said gem. Now its not just a gem, now it could be used in fun and interesting ways. Retun to [[Kingson's DnD Info (Home page)]]
