# Useful Third-Party Apps & Tools
> [!NOTE] This is NOT an official Bluesky resource!

There are MANY super-useful third-party apps for Bluesky. See this ["Awesome Bluesky" list](https://github.com/notjuliet/awesome-bluesky) by notjuliet for a great directory of Bluesky apps, tools, and resources.

Thanks to [Mubashar "Mubs" Iqbal](https://bsky.app/profile/mubashariqbal.com), you can now search a [directory](https://blueskydirectory.com/) for tools and applications for Bluesky.

From Bluesky's main webpage: "Our goal is to foster a healthy developer ecosystem that improves your experience online." As you can see from their Community Showcase, there are MANY community projects built on the Bluesky API. Before installing or investing time in any third-party tool, be sure to do your research. What do other users think of the app/tool? What is the learning curve like? If you run into issues, how will you get help? Is there good user documentation? I'm always wary of investing too much in any free service that doesn't seem to have a longterm plan for sustainability. If it's maintained by just indie developer, what if their app becomes hugely popular? Will they be able or interested in ramping up so their tech can support the influx of new users? I'm leery of any service that claims to stay free forever; in my experience, those services end up abandoned/dormant, shutting down, or selling my data.
## Tools and apps I am using the most right now
### BlueskyFeedCreator.com
[BlueskyFeedCreator](https://blueskyfeedcreator.com/) is the tool I use the most often these days. I opted for this tool to create and maintain my feeds because of the excellent user documentation and because the developer is so good at communication/support. There is a free tier that lets you create simple feeds; I highly recommend checking this out because it's a great way of learning how to create a feed (you don't have to publish it publicly). I opt for a Paid Tier so I can have multiple admins for the [KidLit Mega Feed](https://bsky.app/profile/debbieohi.com/feed/kidlit) as well as have access to the MANY other advanced features.
### Deck.blue
I use [deck.blue](https://deck.blue/) on my desktop computer (it's not really geared toward mobile use, though I sometimes do use it on my iPad Pro as well). A Tweetdeck clone (but better, IMHO), this browser-based app enables me to use hyperlinks in my post as well as more easily monitor slow chats, feeds, lists, etc. Lots of functionality available for free, but I have opted to become [a Patreon supporter](https://www.patreon.com/deckblue) to help support the developer's efforts, and for access to advanced features like scheduling.
### StackEdit
I use the free [StackEdit.io](https://stackedit.io/) to help me check my Markdown when I'm using deck.blue to embed hyperlinks, before I post. Found out about this app from deck.blue!
## Tools and apps recommended by the community
I encourage you to browse the [Community Showcase](https://docs.bsky.app/showcase) as well as the community recommendation thread below.
[BlueskyFeedCreator.com](https://blueskyfeedcreator.com/feeds) - what I use to create my custom feeds. Some features require a paid tier.
[Deck.Blue](https://deck.blue/) - what I use to insert hyperlinks, schedule, and follow chats. Some features require a paid tier.
[ClearSky](https://clearsky.app/) - Enter an account and find out who has blocked you, lists you've been added to you, more. However, [sometimes it may take several refreshes to get an accurate result](https://bsky.app/profile/bgowriter.bsky.social/post/3laryvy5oos2p).
[Graysky](https://graysky.app/) - Bluesky client. To those complaining how terrible the native Bluesky looks on their iPad. I highly recommend this app!
[Goodfeeds](https://goodfeeds.co/) - Also see their [Guide To Feeds](https://goodfeeds.co/the-guide)
[Skyfeed](https://skyfeed.app/) - One of the original methods for creating feeds on Bluesky, still used by many.
