# How To Find Interesting People and Content If you find your Bluesky feed uninteresting or boring, remember that Bluesky has no black box algorithm. > [!QUOTE] From Scholastic art director, Brian Larossa (@BrianLarossa.com): > "**There is no baseline algorithm at work here, clamoring for your attention. This is a grocery store, not a restaurant. If you came here because you don’t want other people messing with your feed, you need to learn to cook.**“ Also see [this thread from Brian on Bluesky](https://bsky.app/profile/brianlarossa.com/post/3l72hxg5rps2i). An excerpt: "Seeing some of the new arrivals posting about Bluesky being boring. I hate to break it to you, but if you find Bluesky boring, that's 100% your fault, because the only person working behind the scenes here to make it not boring is… you." Brian has a bunch of useful suggestions, plus explains how he has tweaked his own feed. ## Here are some tips from the Bluesky community on how they find interesting people and content on the platform You can [browse this thread of responses](https://bsky.app/profile/debbieohi.com/post/3la5sv5n7wg2l) from those who replied to my poll about how they find interesting people and content. Also see [[Resources created by the Bluesky Community]]. ## Find and follow people whose posts you like If you aren't following many people, your Home feed will likely be just as empty. One of the easiest way to find people is use the Search in Bluesky. Search for a topic you're interested in, and you'll be shown posts, people, and feeds related to that topic (if any exist). Example: I am a fan of fountain pens. When I enter "fountain pens" in the search field, I can easily find the Top and Latest posts that mention fountain pens in post text or image alt-text, People who have the phrase in their profile bio, and Feeds about fountain pens. ![[Search_Bluesky_Topic-1000.jpg|600]] ### Other ways for finding [[Feeds]]: - On your My Feeds page, scroll down to the "Discover New Feeds" section. Enter the kind of content you're looking for, and the search engine will look for custom feeds built by the community. Just click on the plus (+) sign to add any feed to your My Feeds list. - Use one of the [[Third-party apps and tools]] that are focused on managing custom feeds. ## Find, Add, and Pin Feeds When you find a [[Feeds|custom feed]] you like, you can add it to your "My Feeds", which is a list of all the feeds you've saved. For more info about how to customize this page, see [[My Feeds Page]]. Confused about how Bluesky lists differ from Bluesky feeds? On the mobile Bluesky app, the Discover feed is in the topmost horizontal navigation bar, right beside "Popular With Friends." As you browse the posts in the Discover feed, take the time to let the feed know what kind of posts you like and don't like. ![[DiscoverFeed2-ExampleMovieClassic-v2-800.jpg|600]] It took a little while, but I have my Discover feed finetuned so that it's one of my favorite feeds now.
