# Lists: Types Of Lists, How To Create Them, etc. *(updated December 29, 2024)* ![[Cover-Lists-v2-flat800.jpg|400]] Bluesky Lists are another way of helping curate your user experience. There are two main types of Lists on Bluesky: Curation Lists and Moderation Lists. ## Curation Lists These are used to group users whose posts you want to follow. I'm most familiar with this type of List. Here's an example of my [List of KidLit & YA Book Creator Groups](https://bsky.app/profile/debbieohi.com/lists/3kwwmywdkso26), showing the title of the List, a brief group description, then a list of users in that List: ![[Lists-PeopleTab-KidLit-BookCreatorGroups-vertical.jpg]] Note that when you open a Bluesky List, it defaults to a list of posts and replies. To see the actual user list, click the People tab. ## Moderation Lists If you subscribe to a Moderation List, you are auto-blocking everyone in that List. You can see the Moderation Lists you are currently subscribed to at https://bsky.app/moderation/modlists. One (silly) example of a Moderation List: a list of user accounts suspected of actually being squirrels pretending to be humans. ![[Example-ModerationList-v2-flat800.jpg]] I strongly advise NOT blindly subscribing to moderation lists. Research first, make sure you can trust the list owner. **There are some trolls out there with fraudulent moderation lists**; if you subscribe to their lists, you may very well be blocking some people you follow! (including me; I am on at least one of those lists) **[See this cautionary post by @Davis](https://bsky.app/profile/davis.social/post/3ld3mcrsas22r)**. ## How to check whether you're on any Lists There doesn't yet seem to be an easy, native way to check. Under [[Third-party apps and tools]], you'll find [ClearSky](https://clearsky.app/), which enables you to enter a Bluesky account and see which lists they're on. HOWEVER, be aware that there is sometimes a delay (of up to a few minutes?) once you enter your username, so don't be discouraged if nothing comes up right away. ## How to check if a user has created a Curation List If you go to [my Bluesky profile](https://bsky.app/profile/debbieohi.com), look at the horizontal row of tabs beneath my profile bio. This also includes any posts that people on the list make AND any posts that people on the list reply to. Because of the latter, I don't tend to find this view that useful, especially if there are a lot of people in my List. I use [[Feeds]] instead. ## How can I create a List? Go to your [User Lists](https://bsky.app/lists) page. On a desktop browser, this is on the left-hand vertical navigation bar. To access this on a mobile device, go to Home (the house icon in the lower left), then click on the 3-line stack in the top left corner.
