So, in the absence of organized resistance measures from opposition leadership, Americans must take individual economic action and a data strike accomplishes exactly that. It's a form of community-level action capable of creating a massive economic impact while actively protecting you from the consequences of panoptic digital surveillance. It's one of the few forms of economic resistance that immediately improves your quality of life, and it specifically weakens industries and systems vital to creating and maintaining the Authoritarian state. To make sure no one affects change, [mainstream media normalizes every insanity](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HyperNormalisation) and places blame for the consequences anywhere else they can. The outcome of every war, the spread of every religion, and the adoption of every ideology are deeply entwined with the concentration of power over a society's communication systems, the [flow of information](https://www.ynharari.com/book/nexus/), and **[control of the mediums themselves](https://kravensecurity.com/history-of-cyber-threat-intelligence/)**. Currently, our communication and information systems are dominated by unblinking corporate entities whose only motivator is profit.
