![[Teradyns_Journal 1.webp]]
A thick, leather-bound book, worn and aged written by the Archmage Teradyn in circa 8th Century. The cover is cracked and faded, with deep creases running across its surface, evidence of countless readings by hands long turned to dust. Faint traces of arcane symbols are etched into the leather, barely visible under the grime of centuries.
The pages are yellowed and brittle, each one filled with tightly packed writing, arcane symbols, and diagrams. The handwriting varies, some lines are neat and orderly, while others are hasty, almost frantic. Interspersed among the text are complex, arcane symbols and diagrams, some of which pulse faintly with residual magic. The ink appears faded in places, yet in others, it seems fresh, as though written only moments ago.
Many of the pages are filled with disjointed ramblings, strange symbols, and half-completed thoughts. Some sections are covered in dense blocks of text, while others are almost entirely obscured by chaotic scribbles and overlapping notes. Diagrams of strange machines, star charts, and what appear to be teleportation circles are scattered throughout, their purpose unclear.
Between the more legible passages, the pages are dotted with words and phrases that repeat, sometimes erratically. There are also numerous blank spaces, as if the author hesitated or was interrupted, leaving thoughts unfinished.
Towards the back of the book, the writing becomes increasingly erratic, the letters slanting wildly as though the writer’s hand was trembling. Some pages are marred by dark stains, and the ink is smudged as if hastily written and never dried. The arcane symbols here grow more intricate and more disturbing, and the diagrams become increasingly abstract, hinting at something beyond mortal comprehension.
This journal has been partly translated by [[Delilah Banris]] of the Vanakian's Kings Conclave and reads as follows;.
**Entry 1: The Ancients and Their Secrets**
_"The deeper I delve into the old texts, the more convinced I become that the true history of this world is buried under layers of myth and superstition. [[The Kin]], once mere wanderers in the eyes of the common folk, seem to hold secrets far older than any recorded civilization. They speak in riddles, of balance and guardianship, but I sense there is more. I must uncover what it is they protect, or perhaps, what they fear."_
**Entry 2: The Five Relics**
_"The tales of the Bracelets of Passage are consistent, if elusive. Five in total, each tied to an elemental force and an ancient celestial event. Yet, their purpose is shrouded in mystery. The bracelets are said to open doorways to realms beyond our understanding, but why? And to what end? The connection to the old gods is undeniable, but I wonder if these relics were meant to bring the gods closer—or to keep them at bay."_
**Entry 3: The Crucible and the Tyrant King**
_"My studies of [[Zereth]], the so-called [[Zereth|Tyrant King]], have led me to a disturbing hypothesis. His realm, [[the Crucible]], is a place of perpetual conflict and flame. The barrier between his world and ours seems thin, and I fear the bracelets could be the key to breaching that barrier entirely. Were they to fall into the wrong hands… No, I must be cautious. The more I learn, the more I feel the weight of what I am uncovering. Perhaps it is no coincidence that [[Zereth]]'s name is spoken with such reverence by those who seek power at any cost."_
**Entry 4: The Standing Stones and Their Power**
_"The standing stones hold more power than I first imagined. They are not merely markers of ancient places but conduits—anchors for the energies that bind our world to others. I have reason to believe that a fully activated bracelet, when near such a stone, could tear open the fabric of reality itself, creating a portal to an outer realm. I’ve hidden a circle here, deep within the earth, to test this theory. But the risks... the risks are too great."_
**Entry 5: Whispers of The Kin**
_"There are whispers among the few who remember—[[The Kin]] are not what they seem. Nomads, yes, but with a purpose lost even to them. I suspect they once held a duty, a responsibility to guard something or to prevent something terrible from happening. If only I had more time to unravel their secrets. I fear my time runs short."_
**Entry 6: The Awakening**
_"I had a dream, or perhaps a vision. The gods, stirring in their slumber, awoken by the misuse of ancient power. Could it be that the bracelets are the catalyst? If the barriers are weakened, the gods may return—not as protectors, but as conquerors. Only those with pure intentions should dare to use these relics, for in the hands of the selfish or power-hungry, the consequences could be dire."_
**Entry 7: The Potential Within**
_"To whoever finds this journal, know this: the bracelets hold great potential, but they are not mere tools of power—they are keys to realms beyond our understanding. Use them wisely, for they can bring enlightenment or ruin, depending on the heart of the one who wields them. Seek out [[The Kin]], if they still live, for they may yet hold the knowledge to prevent the calamities of the past from repeating."_
**Entry 8: The Final Entry**
_"The lab grows colder each day, a chill not from the earth but from something far more sinister. I have warded the circle as best I can, but I know it may not be enough. My strength wanes, and I fear the entities will breach the defences sooner than I can complete my work."_
_"If only I had more time, if only I had understood the true nature of the bracelets earlier, perhaps I could have prevented this. But now it falls to another, someone who must bear the weight of these secrets."_
