*Arctic Warfare Magnum (AWM)*
The *Arctic Warfare* is a sniper rifle designed as an upgraded version of the *Precision Marksman*, also made by Accuracy International, for use in the British Army.
It is a bolt-action sniper rifle and features a *free-floating barrel*.
The Arctic Warfare has a full length *aluminium chassis* to which all components and the body panels are bolted, thus creating a sturdy and light weapon. This also allows it to be *modular* and components can be exchanged between any model of the Arctic Warfare family. The original Arctic Warfare has light green body panels.
The name derives from the new features which allow for its use in temperatures *as low as -40°C*. The bolt is milled at the rear to prevent it from being stuck due to temperature or the introduction of external debris. More noticeable are the *enlarged* thumb-hole, bolt handle, magazine release, and trigger guard, which allows for the use of the rifle with *Arctic gloves*.
Despite the preexistence of the Precision Marksman, the name "Arctic Warfare" is now used to refer to the entire series of rifles.
The Arctic Warfare and its variants remain in use with police and military forces around the world today.
