Fields aren't pointless but there are a couple things that don't make sense. What is there is planted in rows. Today, it's reaching 40,000 feet for the first time. > Reply by `___Arty___` > - The USAF 266th Range Squadron [operates](http://usafunithistory.com/PDF/0200/266%20RANGE%20SQ.pdf) the Grasmere Electronic Combat Site in [Grasmere, Idaho.](https://goo.gl/maps/TBknKh26p71SVR6e7) > - This site has [threat emitters](https://www.northropgrumman.com/what-we-do/air/joint-threat-emitter-jte/) operated by [PV Hybrid batteries](https://www.sandia.gov/files/ess/EESAT/2003_papers/Hund.pdf) from [[Sandia National Laboratory]]. > - The [266th Range Squadron](https://www.imd.idaho.gov/idaho-air-national-guard/266th-range-squadron/) uses this area to train air force pilots by simulating threats like enemy aircraft or anti air forces.
