**Zain: the Lovers.**
zain: 6th key; the lovers. Check check sign the lovers. Path color orange related sound: D natural; sign: Gemini (mutable air), meaning: sword or armor'; simple letter: smell; esoteric title: The Children of The Voice, or the Oracle of the mighty gods. Yetziratic text: *The 17th path is the disposing intelligence which provides Faith to the righteous and they are clothed with the [[Holy Spirit]] by it and it is called the foundation of Excellence in the state of higher things*.
The path of Zayin, the lovers, runs between [[Binah|Binah]] and Tiphareth, and connects the pure consciousness from which forms emerged with the central point of all manifestation, a [[Complexity|complexity]] which can hardly be suggested by the image on a tarot card. This card does not represent the mundane [[Love|love]] of two persons, but is instead, the dualities of a single individual, willfully united in the pursuit of divine love. The key’s true meaning is embedded in the sign of the zodiac, Gemini, the twins. The dual energies which the lover proposes to unite are equal and complementary twins. The uniting of these twins is a major step upwards toward the godhead on the Tree of Life.
The principal here is that as the Divine energy surged across the abyss into manifestation dynamic complementaries were formed. The great work is a marriage of those complementaries of manifestation and return to the primordial State. Thus this path may be considered the aspect of the Garden of Eden from which mankind was expelled, but to which it may earn reentry by consciously dealing with what has been called the inner Sun and Moon. The whole key to this great work is the uniting of the Sun and the Moon under [[Mercury]], the planet ruling Gemini.
The author Case explains that the sun is self-[[Consciousness|consciousness]] while the Moon is subconsciousness. It is working through its particular half of [[The Body|the body]]. When the solar and lunar currents can enjoin, the life power is rightly perceived and rectified. Under these conditions the personality and individuation is engaged and the person becomes a free unobstructed channel for the outpouring of the cosmic life force.
Waite reckons it is Adam and Eve and to the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. Adding that in a very high sense the card is a mystery of the [[Covenant]] and the Sabbath (see notes on Nuit in 3rd Decan, Mercury). It represents a marriage or individuation of the component modules of the Seeker.
Another indicator of activity on this path is the attribution of the sword to Zion. The sword represents the element of air which is a mediator between dualities. This corresponds to the solar Genii.
Another interesting aspect is attribution of Zain to the sense of smell, which affects directly the ethmoid complex near the prefrontal cortex of the brain.
It will be remembered that the [[Elohim]] limited the immortality of man because of their partaking of the fruit of dualistic thinking. In such cases it is the death proposed by military campaigns that ultimately experiences success through the renunciation of dipole or diplomatic dualities which are the cause of war in the first place. Therefore those solar energies which grant military success are in fact built upon the absolution of polarities and dualities and the acceptance of treaties of unity between the former warring factions. The sword destroys utterly those who would [[Travel|travel]] across the abyss in duality. Thus is the path called the disposing intelligence. The lovers are the combination of the alchemical formula of “*solve et coagula*”. The sword separates out or dissolves: an activity which we have previously shown to mean analysis. This is probably by a synthesis or reintegration in a new way. Therefore ‘solve et coagula’.
It might also remind one of ‘Conjunctio’ in [[MQ Book 2 Spherics/Taurus/Spherical Taurus/Geomancy|geomancy]]. The lovers requires a complete integration of the individuality of microprosopus, for the return of the Soul to the paradisal garden of Eden from which it emerged. As a psychodynamic medium the lovers is a balance toward the higher (see [[Notes|notes]] about the Gemini Twins).
In the lover card the figure presiding over this Royal marriage is actually the hermit, a personification of [[Mercury]]. As a marriage of the king and queen under a floating Cupid the lovers relates to the chemical wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz.

**Eight of Swords**
Eight of Swords (Lord of Beneficent Force); Jupiter in Gemini. [[Angels|Angels]] of the First Decan...
This is Hod in [[Yetzirah]], the influence of Hod in the Astral World. The expansiveness of Jupiter, allows the natural Complements of Gemini to affect its positive energies. The application of Beneficent Jupiter force in this sign may be applied to diplomatic, technological, and engineering affordances which greatly enhance and contribute to the sociological domain of influence, of the great planet, which may be intense and positive. It is a royal marriage, for the baby Hermes became a great friend of the Mighty Jove. This condition is a grand emergence of energy, especially mental keenness, and liberation from Earthly suffering by way of technology and [[Social architecture|social architecture]].
**Nine of swords**
Lord of [[Science]] and Engineering (Technology). Mars in Gemini. [[Angels|Angels]] of the Second Decan...
This is Iesod in Yetzirah, the influence of the Moon in the astral world. Since Mars represents science the influence of Martian science brings great benefit to the imaginative world of Iesod. Along with this come the affordances offered by Scientific Education (such as Operant Conditioning) and Dynamic Entrainment (such as NLP, EFT, and the various practices of Scientific Trance ...binaural beats, DTI, autosuggestion, etc.) Also the dynamic energy of Mars is put too good effect especially in the phases of the Waxing Moon.
Additionally, Science and Technology are most compatible and the extra dynamic energy of Applied Science in the world of Technology brings about rapid discovery and development the [[Tools|tools]] needed for Adaptive affordances of today’s complex society. A very auspicious combination.
**10 of Swords**
Lord of Fantastic Technology. (The Sun in Gemini; this is the Harmonizing force of Solar Growth energy enlivening the domain of technological engineering. Additionally, we have the Mental realm of Hod, directed by the cognitive awareness of the Solar individuation (mental awareness). Qabalistically, this is Malkuth (the Kingdom) in Yetzirah, the influence of malkuth in the World of Formation. From the standpoint of material things this is the most auspicious card in the deck. It represents a conjunction of Earth magic and Moon magic, one of the most potent combinations. The Principals of the Earth Zone are Resonant with the Lunar Chiefs, responsible for the Etheric Wireframe upon which all material condensation is hung. Through the innovative imago of [[Azoth & Technical Q/Azah 'D'/Generative Creativity|generative creativity]] (see previous decan), the genius of mercurian technology, and the pragmatic application of tools and process, much magical technology is afforded the magus and practicing Qabalist.
We are not slaves to the casting of lots but have the capacity, through inner processes, to constantly improve our Earthly conditions. This is often done through the [[Transformational Daydreaming|transformational daydreaming]] or guided (intentional) trance magic available to us from the Etheric Iesod. The old medieval attributions of this card are antiquated and irrelevant, as they no longer apply to the networked [[Complexity|complexity]] of new paradigms in [[Metamodernism|metamodernism]]. Therefore we have rectified these attributes in accordance with Divine Law, in harmony with Shekinah the wife of God, the Tantric goddesses, and the [[Elohim]]. These are symbolized collectively in the Princess of Swords.
**Princess of Swords**
Princess of swords is also known as Princess of the Rushing Winds, Lotus of the Palace of Air, Princess and Empress of the Sylphs and Sylverides, and Throne of the Ace of Swords. As Earth of air she is sometimes represented by smoke. The burning of incense comes into play here. She is intended to represent a mixture of Minerva, goddess of Wisdom and Diana, goddess of the Moon and the hunt (Perseus, ‘the Pursuer’).
