**Note:** You will see these controls only when you are in the meeting. The Translated Captions function is provided by the host. It is available as an add-on from Zoom, at the cost of $5 per month.

In your Zoom toolbar:
1. If don't see the **Show Captions** button, click the **More** button:

and then select **Captions**

The **Show Captions** button will appear in your toolbar.

2. Click the up-arrow next to the **Show Captions** button.

The 'Captions and translation' panel will open.

3. In the 'Captions and translation' panel:
1. Turn on **Translation**.
2. Select **My speaking language**, the language you will speak.
3. Select **My caption language**, the language you want to read (probably the same).
4. If you want to see captions in other speakers' languages, select **Show original and translated captions** (not recommended for usual use).
5. You can control the appearance of captions on your screen with **Caption settings**.
When someone else speaks in their 'speaking language', you will see captions in your 'caption language'. When you speak in your 'speaking language', other people will see captions in their 'caption language.'
