# Vesicle --- A **vesicle** is a small, fluid-filled pocket inside a [[cell]]. ## Types There are several different types of vesicles: **vacuoles**, **endosomes**, **lysosomes**, **transport vesicles**, and **secretory vesicles**. **Vacuoles** are a type of vesicle that is probably the best known from the [[plants#Central Vacuole|central vacuole]] inside plants. **Endosomes** are vesicles made via the process of [[endocytosis and exocytosis|endocytosis]]. **[[lysosome|lysosomes]]** are vesicles that are primarily involved in the degradation of macromolecules and performing [[phagocytosis]] and [[lysosome|autophagy]].
