The SAMR model is a framework to consider [[digital transformation]] with [[technology]]. It stands for - Substitution - direct replacement, no functional change - Augmentation - direct replacement but with a functional improvement - Modification - tech allows for a significant task redesign - Redefinition - tech allows for the creation of new tasks. The first two are enhancements and the last two are transformations. There's nothing wrong with an enhancement, but we should consider what transformation are possible. Examples Writing 1. Substitution - change paper for a type writer 2. Augmentation - A word processor with spell correction and a delete key! 3. Modification - Adding images and videos to a written doc and putting online 4. Redefintion - Collaborative writing in a document all at the same time. Tags: #to/process , #On/Learning
