Welcome to my [[writingworking]] space! This is an always in process tentative [[curation]] of my various [[notes and ideas]], achievements, and personal points of curiosity.
This space reflects my still evolving [[philosophy of writing]] while also practicing the concept of [[working with the garage door up]]. In other words: this space messy, hosts internal contradictions, & holds competing [[organizational forms]].
# navigating this space
The navigation of this space aims to mirror my own [thinking and linking process(external)](https://forum.obsidian.md/t/linking-your-thinking-resources/6177) as I develop some form of [evergreen notes(external)](https://notes.andymatuschak.org/Evergreen_notes). There is no linear progress through this space and the majority of pages are meant to inspire [[transient browsing]]. Toward this end, you'll notice quickly that hovering over internal links allows you to "preview" that note, clicking internal links will stack notes horizontally, each new note has a graph view the shows relations/connections to other notes, and backlinks are listed at the bottom of each note.
# about me
I'm an assistant professor who spends most of his time [[teaching]] and thinking about technology and writing. I'm working on a book and a handful of essays across global technology issues and several other [[projects]]. I've had appointments directing a professional & technical writing program and I currently direct a university writing program. On top of this I also co-facilitate a faculty group committed to teaching [[sustainability]] across the curriculum. Finally, I'm involved in a local community [mutual aid project(external)](https://linktr.ee/weberfridge) and an advisory food council -- both of which are in the process of reorganization.
