# Determine if a Chicago property is in a Transit Served Location
In Chicago, a "Transit Served Location" means a property that is within 2,640 feet of a CTA or Metra rail station entrance or exit or within 1,320 feet of a specific bus route corridor. This is abbreviated as TSL. Colloquially this is also called transit-oriented development (or TOD).
The zoning code regulates TSLs and this is described in further detail in our [[Connected Communities]] article.
## Look up a property
Every Property Report lookup for a Chicago-based location will check if the location is a TSL.
1. Open a Property Report for an address or PIN.
2. Once the Property Report has opened, scroll down to the table of contents and select "TOD status".
3. The webpage will automatically scroll to the "TOD status" section.
4. The "TOD status" section will indicate if the location is a TSL by showing a green checkmark or an orange "x". Furthermore, if the green checkmark shows then a list of benefits of the TSL portions of the Chicago zoning code.
## Other features of TOD status
### Map
The TOD status section in Property Report will also show a map that locates the nearest rail station and eligible bus corridors (a transit facility). The map will also draw a direct line between the property location and the transit facility.
It's possible to download this map for use in GIS. Select the "Download the TOD map" text and select the GeoJSON or KML formats for downloading.
### Pedestrian Street
The TOD status section will also check for a nearby Pedestrian Street. If a property is on a Pedestrian Street then a major additional standard will apply: car-oriented uses will not be allowed here.
