# Play: Research the amount of public sector investment in a Place
*This Play is part of the following Playbooks: [[NFP playbook for efficient operations|Efficient operations for SSAs & Chambers of Commerce]]*
## Measure public sector investment
Knowing how much public sector investment in a "Place" (ex: Census tract, community area, ward, etc) received used to be nearly impossible. Chicago Cityscape centralizes data on projects that received one of the following grants from the City of Chicago:
- Tax Increment Financing (TIF)
- Neighborhood Opportunity Funds (NOF)
- Small Business Improvement Funds (SBIF)
- Community Development Grant (CDG)
### Tutorial
Here's how to navigate to find public-sector investments in an area:
1. Search for the name of the Place (in Chicago) you'd like to research and select it from the results; this will take you to a "Place Report".
2. In the Place Report, scroll down to the Amenities & Social infrastructure.
3. Select the "Public-sector investments" tab to view the city data.
4. A map and data table showing the city's investments in the Place will appear. These investments include TIF, NOF, and SBIF.
