# Finding properties near certain amenities
Chicago Cityscape has a database of local businesses and services in certain categories. In Property Reports and Place Reports these are known as Amenities & Social infrastructure. This database is refreshed multiple times each year to include amenities like:
- cafés & coffee shops
- banks
- supermarkets and grocery stores
- public libraries
- medical clinics
## How to find properties near certain amenities
Property Finder's filters have an additional row of filters that are hidden by default where the amenities filters can be found.
1. In a Place Report or Property Report of your choosing, open Property Finder. (In most Place Reports, Property Finder is open by default at the top of the page.)
2. Scroll to below the Property Finder data table, as far as the end of the filters section.
3. Select "Reveal additional filters".
4. Locate the "Filter by overlapping amenities" column of options (see *screenshot 1*).
5. Review the options (which are described after this tutorial), select one, and then select the "Apply filters" button.

### Amenities options
There are two categories of filters here. The first are to find overlapping amenities where the property and the amenity are in the same parcel. This is useful if you are searching for properties that have supermarkets because, for example, you are trying to identify the owners, sale price, or assessed value of grocery stores.
The second category is to locate properties that have an amenity nearby. This is where you'll also find options to locate properties near electricity [[Site selection for electricity-intensive uses|substations]] and #TDL facilities like sorting centers and distribution centers.
## Missing amenities
If you believe there are businesses or services that are not being found, please [report the issue](http://chicagocityscape.com/contact.php) to us and we will investigate and correct the situation within 5 business days.
We use OpenStreetMap data to supply most of our amenities dataobase, so if you're up for it you can [add missing amenities to OSM](http://learnosm.org) and that will make its way to our database within a few months.
