# Finding affordable housing data in Chicago and Cook County Chicago Cityscape has data about affordable housing in Chicago and Cook County, including information about: - former CHA public housing sites - where ARO units are - where LIHTC-funded developments are - where Housing Authority of Cook County developments are ## Former CHA public housing sites Former Chicago Housing Authority public housing sites are in our database as Place Reports. - [View a list and map of the 43 areas](https://www.chicagocityscape.com/maps/index.php#/?places_type=chicagohousingauthority) (which were mapped by [Chicago Cartographics](https://chicagocarto.com)). ![[Pasted image 20240806233804.png]] ## Where ARO units are Housing & Landmarks Snapshot has a map and data table showing affordable housing developments funded or tracked by the Chicago Department of Housing. This includes dwelling units built and rented according to the Affordable Requirements Ordinance (ARO) as well as buildings that received multifamily loans and funding for senior citizen housing. ### How to access the ARO map & data 1. From any Place Report or Property Report, look in the Table of Contents and select the "Housing & Landmarks Snapshot" link. 2. Once in the Housing & Landmarks Snapshot, scroll down until you see the "Affordable housing" heading. 3. Then select the "Load affordable housing" button and a map and data table will appear. From any Place Report or Property Report, look in the Table of Contents and select the "Housing & Landmarks Snapshot" link. 2. Once in the Housing & Landmarks Snapshot, scroll down until you see the "Affordable housing" heading. 3. Select the tab called "LIHTC". 4. Then select the "Load LIHTC-funded locations" button and a map and data table will appear. From any Place Report or Property Report, look in the Table of Contents and select the "Housing & Landmarks Snapshot" link. 2. Once in the Housing & Landmarks Snapshot, scroll down until you see the "Affordable housing" heading. 3. Select the tab called "Housing Authority of Cook County". 4. Then select the "Load HACC locations" button and a map and data table will appear. See *screenshot 3*.
