Alright, well I couldn't think of a top 50 games in time, and even then I still have come catching up to do. I guess if I think of any games along the way I'll add them as "Honorary mentions" or something.
Well, I'll start off with a F2P MMO that I played a LOT of this last summer.
47. Flyff
I wouldn't suggest anyone actually play this. For one thing, the Game Masters throw the cash shop in your face every opportunity they can and so often that it really doesn't feel like a F2P game at all. It's even gotten worse over the years.
Regardless, the character classes are really cool and I really enjoyed playing it, sometimes I revisit it whenever I boot up windows on my mac. Or if I'm just bored. Right now my main character is a lvl 64 (I think) 1v1 BillPoster (Best class in the game, IMO)
46. Yu-Gi-Oh, Nightmare Troubadour.
I really like yugioh, I don't really buy the physical cards anymore, but I really like the card game and would play it all the time if I had super special awesome cards.
Luckily for me, Nightmare troubadour let me do just that. I could play all the yugioh I wanted without having to invest shit tons of money into it. I don't think I ever completed the actual story, but the dueling part was really fun and worked very well.
**45. Art Style: Aquia (DSi)**
As you guys may or may not know, I love me some puzzle games. I got Art Style: Aquia for free through the DSi's free 1000 point thingy, and I'm very happy I did. I didn't ever get really godly at it like other puzzle games, but it's pretty cool. Yay.
**44. Grand Theft Auto IV (360)**

This is a game that probably needs no explanation. I was never really a fan of the GTA game format. But it was really fun to go around and kill innocent people. And as good as the game part was, the thing that I liked most about this game is its radio stations. Listening to Integrity 2.0 with Lazlow is epic, and the conservative radio station We Know The Truth (WKTT) satirizes Rush Limbaugh and Daytime judge shows, absolutely comical stuff.
There's just so much to do outside of the actual game. Whether you're just listening to the radio or even watching the multitude of actual TV shows and "Live" Comedy shows with Ricky Gervais and Katt Williams. It's a really awesome experience.
**43. Paper Boy (NES)**
[img]http://www.retrones.net/Caratulas/Paper%20boy.jpg[/img[
Aah, paperboy. If I'm not mistaken, this was among the first few games I ever played.
I haven't ever really gone back to it, but I remember playing a bit of it with my dad and mom trying to run away from that crazy red lady (that is a woman right) trying to chase me down with a chainsaw. At least, I think it was a chainsaw.
**42. Def Jam, Fight for NY (GC)**

This game is one of the best wrestling games I've ever played. The original Def Jam Vendetta was based on Nintendo 64 wresting game code and upgraded for the new generation, and it was okay. But Fight for NY was just awesome. The story, or at least what I remember, was pretty interesting for a wrestling game. And the fighting moves looked really cool to me and my friends so, here it is on my top 50 list.
**41. Bomberman (DS)**

Well, Bomberman is good on any system, but I chose this DS one specifically because of its awesome download play, and the fact that a bunch of friends played it everyday during "guided study" back in my junior year of high school.
I would bring an extra DS so more of us could play, it's a really cool experience, and even cooler since my teacher didn't give a crap what we did so long as we were quiet.
**40. Geo Defense (iPhone)**

I've heard people call this game the "Thinking Man's Tower Defense." I think this is the first tower defense game I've ever played, it's really freaking awesome, and it was only a dollar. Best value EVAR! I still haven't beaten all the levels, I always play it during Micro Economics, it helps me stay awake. Sometimes.
**39. NFL Blitz 2000 (N64)**

I hate Football. There, I said it. Take away as many "man points" as you want from me, but I'm not a big sports fan. That being said, this game was amazing. I don't hate the concept of football, but watching people do things I don't personally do or want to do is uninteresting. So playing NFL Blitz helped me learn (almost) everything I know about football. I love its arcade pick up and play style, and much more faced paced than real football or Madden.
I would absolutely LOVE for Nintendo to do a "Mario Football" (even though it would probably only sell in America) with the arcade style of Blitz and then the regular mario wackyness with the items.
**38. Bioshock (360)**

It took me a full year to play this game o_O. I played it at a friends house and got one achievement, and then never played it again until almost exactly one year later. It was scary, and I'm not exactly used to scary games. I'm not one to frighten easily when watching movies, but when it's a video game and you're the idiot that runs off alone, it's a completely different story. Before I got used to the atmosphere I probably shat in my pants 5 times.
But, in the end, this was a REALLY cool game. It was like an FPS and RPG and Adventure all in one. Kinda like Metroid.
**37. Animal Crossing, Wild World (DS)**

I played a lot of the first animal crossing on Ye Olde Cube. I mean, there's not much to say about this game. It's fucking animal crossing. I still have yet to play the one on Wii, and I do plan on getting it eventually, I haven't Crossed any Animals in a while.
**36. Pac Man (Arcade)**

Holy. Fucking. Balls. I must say, this is probably the best arcade game....ever. When we moved into my house about 6 years ago, my parents had a big vision of a "game room" in the basement. They bought the pacman machine and never thought twice about the basement of anything more than guest storage...
But I played the hell out of it. The arcade version I had has many different Pac man modes, I think about nine of them including Ms. Pac Man and the fast versions of it, which are much better IMO.
**35. WCW vs NWO Revenge (N64)**

Way back in the day when I was a wee little lad, My cousins would watch wrestling all the time. I've already mentioned that I did not like sports, and I felt the same about wrestling (if you consider "pro wrestling" a sport). But this game was simply amazing.
I can't tell you how much I had played this game when I was little. I think that I had gone through the exhibition at least once with most of the characters. My favorite was always Sting, occasionally I would use La Parka, Rey Mysterio Jr, That Ninja looking guy, Raven, and I'm not even sure who else. I would love to see this game on the Virtual console, but I don't think it will ever see the light of day.
**34. Crackdown (360)**

I think this game took everybody by surprise. My friends originally got this game only to be part of the Halo 3 multiplayer beta, but it turned out to be an awesome game in its own right. I don't think I had ever played a game (other than Spider man) that let you run around Tall buildings and explore an open world to the extent that Crackdown did. I didn't get around to collecting ALL of the orbs, but it was really cool doing everything that I did. Leveling up your character up to BEAST mode was pretty awesome too.
**33. Guitar Hero 3 (360)**

What can I say about this game...It was basically my big introduction to music games. Again, the only reason I bought it is because I had this random game on my achievement list and I thought, "Oh, why don't I try to get the rest of them." It took me about 6 or 9 months to finally claim the 5* all songs on expert achievment. But man, it was fun for every second.
**32. Castle Crashers (360)**

I didn't actually buy this game, but a friend of mine wanted to play it with me so he downloaded it. It ended up being one of the coolest games of teh EVAR.
I loved every second of this game. Its art is really cool, funny, and morbid at the same time. I really lahk eet. I played as the green guy and maxed out my Magic first. His magic power rapes...not even kidding. My buddy took the orange guy and went weapons.
31. Mario Tennis (GB)

This game literally taught me everything I know about tennis. This game was the epitome of fun when it came to tennis games. Even the Sequel for the GBA was not as fun as the original.
The RPG elements really make this game awesome. Leveling up your character and getting better at the game naturally made you a beast of a player by the end of the game. The story wasn't half bad either. I remember going to the, tournament, I think, and feeling scared to face off against that one creepy skinny guy. If I still had this game I would probably pick it up every once in a while.
**30. Trauma Center: Under The Knife (DS)**

This game really made the DS stand out for me. It was one of those games that was only possible on DS way back when, and it was awesome for it. At the time, I was also considering being a surgical doctor, so it was a extra awesome experience.
Right now, I just bought the two Trauma Centers on the Wii, and they are pretty awesome as well. There's a lot more story than ever in the New Blood, and it's surprisingly very interesting, so Trauma Center = Win.
**29. Kirby Canvas Curse (DS)**

This was actually the very first Kirby game I ever played...and it was awesome. I borrowed it from a friend who I never expected to own something like a kirby game, that one day I went to his house and played it for a few minutes, I was hooked. It was a really freaking awesome game, and I don't think I'll ever play a game like it again. I tried playing some traditional Kirby games after CC, but it wasn't as fun..Oh well.
**28. Donkey Kong Country (SNES)**

Woah, I remember way way back in the day. I would sleep over at my friends house and play DKC all day. They had all of them, and honestly I don't remember which of the series was the best, so I'll just stick with the first one. Playing as Diddy Kong was always much more fun to me though, and riding the Rhino was always awesome!!
**27. God Of War (PS2)**

This is one of the coolest games I've ever played. I LOVE the battle system, the Quicktime events, eh, not so much, but I hear this was one of the first games that used them though, so maybe it gets a free pass. Also, this game has some of the BEST level design ever. And that is not an exaggeration. Every time I went to a new place and saw a clever little puzzle I think to myself, "Huh, that's really clever!" and I had those moments throughout the game. I love it, I just hope I go back and beat it sometime. :P
**26. Mega Man X (SNES)**

I played this game at the same friend's house as Donkey Kong Country. The most memorable part of this game to me is, as most megaman games, the music. I can still here the theme of the first stage playing through my head a lot. The stage before you go on to fight any bosses and Zero saves your ass at the end level. Yea. I love that song. Which I have provided for your listening pleasure.

**25. Mario Kart: Double Dash (GC)**

I don't care what anyone says. Double Dash is my favorite Mario Kart game. I still haven't played the one on the Wii, and the DS version just wasn't my cup of tea, and I'm really not sure why. It was Mario Kart, and some people say it was the best, but I think Double Dash is really just the best.
**24. Hotel Dusk (DS)**

This text based adventure is a favorite for me on the DS. I really like them a lot, and Hotel Dusk, is really freaking awesome, at least, the parts I played. See, I was playing a pirated version of this game on my M3, but then one day it just stopped working, and I was really freaking sad because I think I was pretty close to finishing it, Chapter 10 ish if I'm not mistaken. But yea, I really like Cing's style for DS games. I also played Trace Memory and, it's pretty likely that I will play almost anything that they make if its similar to either of those games.
**23. World Of Goo (Wii)**

My favorite part about this game actually kind of has nothing to do with the actual game parts. But I REALLY love the fact that this game was made by only 2 people. Every time I boot up this game it blows my mind. The traveling sign painter is always witty and makes me laugh when I really need to focus on beating the level. Everything about this game is awesome, and I think it should be a punishable crime to have not played this game.
**22. Wii Sports Resort (Wii)**

1:1 Swordfighting.
'Nuff said.
**21. Wave Race 64 (N64)**

I remember the first time I played this game. A friend of mine brought it to my house after he rented it from Blockbuster. Immediately I was hooked. I told my mom that she HAD to buy it for me, and I played it practically nonstop. All of the courses are practically engraved into my brain sulci. Twilight City and Drake Lake will always be my favorites. AND YOU CAN DO A FUCKING BARREL ROLL!
The Blue Storm Sequel did not even hold a candle to the original.
**20. Drill Dozer (GBA)**

Every time I think about this game, I just really wish they would do a New Super Mario Bros style sequel on Wiiware or DSiware, especially after seeing the model for her in SSBB. This was a really freaking fun game. It was one of the few Gameboy Advance games that had Rumble in it, and I don't think the game would have been as good without it. Well, maybe not the game, but at least the experience. Truly amazing platforming and clever use of the Drill always left me wanting more.
**19. Legend of Zelda, Minish Cap (GBA)**

The first time I took interest in this game was when I was in History class and the kid next to me was playing his GBA. And, to be honest, the thing that caught my attention and made me really want it was the music. It reminded me of Ocarina of Time. The very next day I went to Gamestop and picked me up a used copy. I really liked the idea of Link being able to shrink down to super tiny, and even walk among the townsfolk in tiny mode. But I don't understand why link would suddenly be able to communicate with animals just because he shrank.
The best part about this game was definitely all the super awesome cool new items. The Magic Gust Jar and the Mole Mitts were definitely my favorites and I would really like them to make a reprise in a 3D Zelda game.
**18. Paper Mario (N64)**

I really love the Mario RPGs. I still haven't played the Original on SNES, but I plan on getting it sometime soon on the VC. The first one I played was Superstar Saga. Going back and played Paper Mario on VC and seeing some of the roots of Mario RPGs made me appreciate the game even more. That said, it is a pretty magnificent game in its own right. Very funny all the time, which I guess it a staple for the Mario RPGs. I certainly plan on fleshing out the collection with the Gamecube and the Wii sequels once I equip myself with some moolah.
**17. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)**

I think this one is the best out of the series...Just because of Lucario. He's an awesome pokemon and I think his abilities would make him a great candidate for an action/adventure game. Yea, the online sucks SO much its not even funny. But it is still very fun to play and I would pick it over Melee any day. (though some would disagree)
**16. Metroid Fusion (GBA)**

When I played this game for the first time, I it was only my second run-in with the Metroid series. I rented Metroid Prime and returned it within a few days because I was too afraid to play it. I really liked Metroid Fusion, even though true metroid veterans say it was too "linear" or whatever. I don't really believe it, I mean, yea, it told you where to go, but there was still a bunch of stuff that wasn't on the map that you had to explore. It was really fun for me, all the way. I will forever love the spineshark, easily one of the coolest moves to do in a video game. Period.
**15. Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved (360)**

This is one of the first Xbox 360 games I ever experienced. It was also the first "move with stick, shoot with other stick" games I had played. And I immediately fell in love. It was kind of hard to get used to at first, and there was one time where I pretty much plateaued at around 300,000. But I literally felt like I got better overnight, as I just started racking up points like crazy. No other game gives me a rush like Geometry wars. You always feel the imminent death with hordes upon hordes of enemies from all sides. Honestly, I would have bought an Xbox 360 for this game alone.
14. Chick Chick Boom (PC)
Now, I don't know how many of you played this game. I don't even remember how I first saw it, but it was likely through Nsider. Anyway, this probably was one of the best flash PC games I have ever played.
13. Banjo Kazooie/Tooie (N64)
This was one of my favorite games growing up. Clearly, as it's on my top 47 list. Platformers are probably still my favorite genre of games, and I was super excited to play the new Nuts and Bolts, until I played it. They bastardized the series so much it's not even Banjo Kazooie anymore.
12. Mario & Luigi, Bowser's Inside Story (DS)
All of the Mario RPG games are awesome. All the ones that I've played, anyway, but I put this one as my top because it combines all the good stuff about all of them, and made it even jawsomer. The humor, awesome battle system, Bros moves AND YOU CAN PLAY AS BOWSER. Quite an awesome experience.
11. Okami (Wii)
I always heard awesome things about Okami. When I was taking a trip to Nigeria, I bought some games to keep me company while I was there, only to have the power brick explode when I got there. Then when I got home I played Okami. One of the best Zelda-esque games I've ever played. It's such a beautiful game. How can people look at this game and say video games are not art. Any screenshot from this game looks worthy to be put in the Lourve itself.
Though, the way it is set up is weird. It kind of feels like 3 games in one, and I hated fighting Orochi....More than once. Otherwise, the boss battles were really cool and the paintbrush moves felt great. I couldn't imagine playing this game with a traditional controller.
10. Phoenix Wright (NDS)
I've never really wanted to be a lawyer, but this game surely made me want to be one for a while. I don't even remember the first time I played this game. But replaying the game after a while is like reading a really good book.
I especially loved the forensic "find clues" part, and of course being in court and cross examining everyone is super fun. Moar please.
9. Portal (PC)
This game certainly gets my personal vote for "funniest. game. ever." Not only was it funny, but its one hell of an awesome puzzle game, especially one presented in the first person perspective. This game was completely unlike anything I had ever played before, and was the main reason I even bought the Orange Box too. TF2 and HL2 (e 1 & 2) are all awesome, but Portal still Valve's best first person game IMO.
8. Halo 3 (360)
I'm very familiar with the Halo lore and such and such, and it's really interesting, but I don't care about it as much as I liked the multiplayer experience of it. Before I even got Halo 3, I went out and borrowed Halo CE and Halo 2 from my friend so I could get the story before I played Halo 3. It was all sweet, but I've played through the Halo 3 campaign so many times to get all of the achievements.
The multiplayer is where Halo 3 really shines. I've spent so much time playing this game, and also not playing this game. I've spent full afternoons looking through old videos of awesome stuff that I've done to take pictures, or spending a lot of time creating an awesome infection map in forge. There's just so much to do in this game when you get into it, but it's kind of old now so I can't wait for Halo Reach.
7. Tetris (Everything)
I don't think there is an electronic device that does not have Tetris in some form available for it. It's practically a perfect puzzle game. Tetris DS is the definitive version though, all of the new modes that it added were amazing. Especially "Catch" and "Push", both excellent additions that added an extra layer to the already awesome tetris.
6. Metroid Prime 3 (Wii)
Metroid is a really strange series to me. I played through the first Metroid Prime, and felt kind of apathetic towards it. As I was playing through Metroid Prime 2, it suddenly clicked. I finally understood Metroid, and how it worked, mostly the backtracking and reading the map and all of that good stuff. Metroid Prime 3 is my favorite, I'm not sure why, probably because of the Wiimote controls, but I loved everything about it. The PED suit and hyper mode were both awesome all the time. I also really liked how the map would mark where missile expansions you've seen were and also when you acquired them already.
For future Metroid Primes, though, I demand we have a function like the DS Zelda where we can mark the maps with our own annotations. It only makes sense with the Wiimote and all.
5. Legend of Zelda, Wind Waker (GC)
4. Super Mario Sunshine (GC)
3. Lumines (PSP)
2. Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal (GB)
1. Rock Band 2 (360)
