This game looks INSANELY GOOD! HOLY SHIT!
I can't fuckin wait. I'm taking time off when this game drops IDGAF!!
The Switch 2 Edition is amazing.
I'm so glad that the rumors were true. It's NOT just the Switch 1 version, they actually upgraded the graphics like, A LOT? I'd love to see a side by side comparison because it's hard to tell tbh, but either way the game looks incredible. Even [[Metroid Prime Remaster]] already looked good as fuck.

> With the continued radio silence on _Metroid Prime 4_, it’s easy to feel jaded about the future of the franchise. Though, between the success of 2021’s [_Metroid Dread_](https://www.techradar.com/reviews/metroid-dread) and the impeccable _Metroid Prime Remastered_, I’m now more confident than ever that the series has a bright future.

> We’re not going to know anytime soon when _Metroid Prime 4_ will release, but the quality of _Metroid Prime Remastered_ leads me to think the game’s in very good hands at Retro Studios. Sure, the game might get pushed back until the launch of the [Nintendo Switch 2](https://www.techradar.com/news/nintendo-switch-2). But on more powerful hardware, that can only be in the game’s favor. All in all, it’s a pretty good time to be a Metroid fan.
This was written in February 2023, after Prime Remastered dropped.
But finally, FINALLY we have Metroid Prime 4! AND IT LOOKS EVEN BETTER THAN PRIME REMASTERED like I'm genuinely surprised that it looks so good. And I'm crazy excited.
I didn't believe. I didn't *want* to believe. I didn't get my hopes up at all, I honestly thought that Prime 4 could have released *only* on switch and still done really well. But I'm pretty happy with the approach Nintendo has taken with differentiating the Switch 2 edition games.
This is tracks with their history, this is very similar to Twilight Princess (GC + Wii) and Breath of the wild (Wii U + Switch), with their cross platform releases.
I think the strategy will work, depending on their goals. I don't necessarily know if someone who was already planning on getting Prime 4 on the Switch, but is *now* planning on getting a Switch 2 just to play the Switch 2 version, I'm not sure it alone is worth getting a new $500 console to play. I'm really curious what the sales by platform is going to be. I mean, obviously I think the switch 1 version will outsell it just by volume alone.
