# Whoa, just land here? [[765kV Transmission Line to Cross Burnet County Precinct 2|jump to the new home instead]]
G\*\*gle search is linking an earlier version of this site, but it changes rapidly.
If you just arrived, jump home instead of continuing here. Also see the [[Old Content Advisory]]. Things moved quickly in the first week.
#### Early June in Burnet County ...
In June 2025, some residents began receiving mailings from Oncor Electric Delivery Company notifying that a high-capacity electrical **transmission line project *will* be built** through the county (including across Precinct 2). Its size is unprecedented in Texas.
The poor-quality map showed only three rough mix and match options.
Filing of the application with the Public Utility Commission is scheduled for December 2025.

#### Initial Mailing
The cover page for property owners assigns a "Tract #" to each (like #1977) and advises bringing that page to a come-and-go [[Public "Participation" Meetings|Public "Participation" Meeting]]. These were scheduled for nine-to-eleven days out from the earliest received mailings. Three options over three days spread over 160 miles. See [[From an Industry Insider|Industry insider description of what to expect]].
[PDF scan of initial mailing](https://bighill765.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/2025-06-07_mail_front.pdf). This has now been published in county newspapers as of June 11.
The flip side of the mailed page is a comically low-resolution map - mostly useless from a property owner's perspective. Of course this is intentional. Oncor's [[Consulting Firms]] are tightly controlling the information flow ahead of the meetings. A [better digital version of the rough map](https://bighill765.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/Bell+County+East+-+Big+Hill+Notice+Map.pdf) was found on oncor.com ahead of the meetings. Funny that they would not bother to include a link in the mailing since the map was already online. The original low-res scan is [saved here](https://bighill765.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/2025-06-07_mail_back.pdf) just for the record.
#### Links in the mailing:
- www.oncor.com/transmissionprojects (select "Bell County East - Big Hill 765 kV Transmission Line Project" from the dropdown)
- *Note: This Oncor page has the most complete information publicly available as of June 10.*
- www.lcra.org/BCBH (still mostly useless as of June 10)
#### Consulting Firms
The mailing also names two of its [[Consulting Firms]], one or more of which will cover the *"Land Man"* role - serving to distance Oncor from knowledge of the gritty details. No links or further information provided.
More info about their role at [[From an Industry Insider]].
#### Newspaper Listings
The newspaper listing date for the [Burnet Bulletin](https://www.burnetbulletin.com/) was Wednesday, June 11.
While the Bulletin published the PUBLIC NOTICE in the classified section, it had no other article about the situation.
This is the [[Newspaper Listings|full known publication schedule]].
#### Old Maps
*Once upon a time, this was all we had...* #oldStaticMaps
- [[CR200-CR272-CR210 Area screen at Salado Meeting]]
- The zoomed-in portion around [Precinct 2 as a raw image](https://bighill765.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/BigHillLowRes.png).
- A processed map specifically to gain detail on the [[CR200 - CR272 area]].
As of June 11 there is no high-resolution map known to be available to the public. The LCRA website has no meaningful information at all - just the (same) list of public meetings and a mention that more data would be posted on June 18, which of course is the day of the final public meeting.
