[Youtube Video Link](https://youtu.be/iVv7oSdX8Ok) ![YT Video](https://youtu.be/iVv7oSdX8Ok) For the longest time I've felt that Bossing has been one of Path of Exile's strong points. It's some of the most interesting content the game has to offer, but farming this content has always been gated by one thing or another. The Currency Exchange has removed this barrier to entry and has made bossing one of the best options for making currency in the game. # Finding a Build Typically there are two choices when finding a build for Bossing - Tanky build that can AFK / Facetank - Pros - Requires significantly less skill and can mostly ignore mechanics - Can probably be used for other content - Cons - Most of the time will not kill the bosses as quickly, which means less Currency / Hour - Will most likely be more expensive than a zHP build - Example Build - [Firestorm Blood Magic Inquisitor](https://youtu.be/bubw45rOOrk) - zHP build that can One-Shot Ubers - Pros - Should instantly kill most bosses which will give more Currency / Hour - Typically easier to put together than all-rounder builds as they use mostly uniques and don't care about anything but damage - Cons - Will require a decent level of skill for any boss you can't pre-load and instant kill, as any boss ability will one shot you - Hyper-specific to bossing and can't do most other content - Example Build - [zHP Ice Trap Build](https://poe.ninja/builds/settlers?skills=Ice+Trap&sort=dps) - Almost every build here is 99% the same, just look through them. Jungroan also made a [video talking about this build](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMB5W1e4oZ0) a while back but it may not be up to date, should give you an idea of what it looks like though. I've played both of these archetypes a few times and I significantly prefer the tanky setup as it allows me to farm less popular bosses and I don't have to think as much while doing it. # Choosing a Boss There are a few things to consider when choosing a boss - Profitability - Are the items this boss drops worth anything right now? You can use [PoE Ninja](https://poe.ninja) to check prices on items - How often do the worthwhile items drop, and how much are they worth in comparison to the entrance fee? - How long on average does it take your build to kill this boss? - Difficulty - Can you consistently kill this boss? - How often do you die? - If playing a tanky build can you mostly afk this boss? - Fun - Do you actually enjoy running this boss over and over? # Obtaining the Fragments There is no reason to buy fragments anywhere but the Currency Exchange, even if you did save some amount of currency by buying in huge bulk, you would lose money in the time it takes to find this person selling them. - When buying fragments check both Per/Divine and Per/Chaos, sometimes there is a discrepancy in which is cheaper to buy. - If running one boss long-term put in buy orders for slightly cheaper than market value, these will fill over time. - Example 1: Price on Exchange for 10 Fragments is 3 Divine, put an order in for 11 Fragments for 3 Divine (or multiples of this - 22/6, 44/12, etc) and let it sit while you run your other Fragments. - Example 2: Price on Exchange for 1 Fragment is 27 chaos. Put in an order for 1 Fragment for 25 chaos (or multiples of this - 10/250, 20/500) - If Cortex is not part of your typical bossing rotation you will need to spend some time occasionally obtaining gold to buy fragments on the exchange. Running The Feared and clearing out Cortex occasionally is a good way to do this. Or run 2-3 Juiced T17 Maps. # Running the Boss The way in which you run the boss will determine your currency / hour. - The amount of currency you get per map on average is going to be determined by the cost of the entrance fee, the price of the possible loot, and how often each piece of gear drops. You have little to no control over this, but choosing a boss that has a good ratio of cost/profit is still important. This is your base return per boss. - The speed at which you run the boss determines your actual currency / hour. You have complete control over this, figuring out how to do the boss faster, improving your build to kill them more quickly or more efficiently will gain you a ton of currency / hour. - Be careful with your loot filter, I always suggest that you quickly check the filtered items after killing a boss to see if anything drops. I have found very expensive items more than once that were filtered out. # Selling the Loot Anything that you can sell on the Exchange, do so, but still check the price difference between chaos/div. Sometimes there is a discrepancy. For everything else keep note of a few things - Rolls on items matters a LOT sometimes. It can be the difference between 5 Div and 20 Div. Awakened PoE Trade can give really poor results if you don't tweak the rolls. - Sometimes an item is only worth something if the rolls are very very good. If the item is a common drop, consider using the 3->1 vendor recipe to fish for better rolls out of the poorly rolled items. - Synthesized items from Cortex can have WILDLY different prices depending on the implicits. - If an item doesn't have some specific crazy roll or synthesized implicit that makes it worth a ton more, it is almost always worth it to sell it for slightly under the market price to guarantee a quick sale before the price drops. This is heavily dependent on how late into the league it is though. # Boss Guides These are in no particular order, this section is designed to give you ideas on how to optimize each boss and which drops typically are worth something. You will need to do some research on the price of fragments vs drops still to see if a boss is worth farming. If you have suggestions on adding bosses here feel free to reach out on [Discord](https://discord.gg/YtRKj6qRPx) and I'll see if it is worth adding to the guide! ## The Shaper - Strategy - Use a skill like Lightning Warp with full links to make travelling through the in-between phases significantly faster. - If you die to the bullet hell phase, try standing still in the very bottom right corner and only move slightly when a projectile is heading towards you. - Running in circles around the zone makes this fight significantly easier. - Worthwhile Loot - Normal - Shaper's Touch (56% Drop Chance) - If there is a build using these gloves it can be worthwhile to corrupt them. - Dying Sun (~1% Drop Chance) - typically highly sought after for projectile based clear builds - Uber - The Tides of Time (33% Drop Chance) - well rolled can be worth a lot, good 3:1 vendor recipe target for bad ones - Starforge (<0.5% Drop Chance) - absurdly rare but typically worth something - Sublime Vision (2.5% Drop Chance) - the main reason to farm this boss, always worth an insane amount, most of the time you want to sell this Unidentified - Cosmic Reliquary Key (1.5% Drop Chance) - Additional Drops - Fragment of Knowledge/Shape (100% Drop Chance of 1) - this makes the boss almost free to run most of the time by selling them back - Orb of Dominance (1% Drop Chance) - Thoughts - Probably the longest boss fight out there if you don't hyper-optimize your build for this. I highly suggest if you're going to farm shaper find a way to use a 4link Lightning Warp to move through the in-between phase areas. This is typically a long grind with large spikes in currency. Normal is not worth farming, better to farm Uber. ## Uber Elder - Strategy - This fight is extremely hectic, highly suggest that you run a tanky character as more damage does not particularly make this fight easier. - If your character does not have excellent recovery it is important to kill the Adds that drop sludge pools, also try to stack the orbs near the corners of the zone. - Shaper Bullet hell hits less hard than Uber Shaper, but staying still in the corner is still the best choice. - The fight is SIGNIFICANTLY harder with Maven Influence, you should run some way to reduce regen on any fight with The Maven present (god power is enough) - Worthwhile Loot - Normal - 2-Mod Watcher's Eye (35% Drop Chance) - Always sell these Unidentified - Indigon (4% Drop Chance) - can be worth money if popular - Uber - Soul Ascension (10% Drop Chance) - Worth a decent amount, double check rolls as it influences the price heavily - 3-Mod Watcher's Eye (35% Drop Chance) - Always sell these Unidentified - Voidforge (<1% Drop Chance) - typically worth a ton but very rare - Sublime Vision (2.5% Drop Chance) - Worth a ton, always sell unidentified - Decaying Reliquary Key (1.5% Drop Chance) - Curio of Decay (5% Drop Chance) - Additional Drops - Orb of Dominance (5% Drop Chance) - Thoughts - A pretty difficult fight that only really makes sense to farm if youre doing The Feared invites. Maven'd Uber Uber Elder is quite tough but its the only time this fight is worthwhile imo, the returns are good but its a long fight. ## Sirus - Strategy - The storms are able to kill the vast majority of builds extremely quickly, you have to be patient with them. They tend to move away from where your character is... but not always. - Spell block tends to make this fight significantly easier. Damage is also important here to minimize the amount of time he is hitting you. If you cannot tank his abilities you need to be able to kill him in the final phase before he starts using abilities and going immune. - Worthwhile Loot - Normal - Hands of the High Templar (45% Drop Chance) - Good for selling in bulk or corrupting yourself - Crown of the Inward Eye (38% Drop Chance) - good for corrupting yourself - Thread of Hope Small ~ Very Large (2% Drop Chance) - worth a ton if rolled well - Uber - Thread of Hope Massive (55% Drop Chance) - only worth a bit if rolled extremely well - good 3:1 Vendor recipe target - The Tempest Rising (35% Drop Chance) - only worth a bit if rolled extremely well - good 3:1 Vendor recipe target - Oriath's End (9% Drop Chance) - typically worth a lot - The Saviour (<1% Drop Chance) - Extremely rare but typically worth a lot - Oubliette Reliquary Key (1.5% Drop Chance) - Additional Drops - Orb of Dominance (5% Drop Chance) - Awakener's Orb (15-20% Drop Chance) - Thoughts - A relatively difficult fight if you are not tanky enough to handle his attacks. Uber is almost always worth it and normal tends to be worth farming if Awakener's Orbs are worth something. ## Cortex - Strategy - 3.25 Specific - If you are doing Feared Rotations it is worthwhile to clear this map out a bit to get gold drops to use the exchange. - Rolls on the map determine how dangerous this map will be, always take a quick look. - Worthwhile Loot - Normal - Bottled Faith (~2% Drop Chance) - typically worth a ton, but realistically the only good drop from normal Cortex and the entrance fee most of the time doesn't make sense - Uber (NOTE: I think these drop rates were changed in 3.25, I don't agree with the wiki after farming it a ton, I think Rational Doctrine is 8% and Apostate is 2%) - Mask of the Tribunal (40% Drop Chance) - always worth checking the implicits, aura based ones can go for a LOT. - Nebulis (~33% Drop Chance) - can be worth a lot with very good implicits if a meta build is using it. - Circle of Ambition (~17% Drop Chance) - can be worth an insane amount if rolled well, implicits also can be important - The Apostate (~8% Drop Rate) - can be worth a lot if being used on a build - Rational Doctrine (~2% Drop Rate) - almost always worth a ton, implicits can matter but not a ton. - Forgotten Reliquary Key (1.5% Drop Rate) - Additional Drops - The Hook Divination Card (5% Drop Chance) - has a pretty good chance of being worth a bit of money if you turn it in - Thoughts - Normal Cortex doesn't seem worth it, Uber seems fine to farm and is definitely the choice if doing The Feared. ## The Maven - Strategy - High damage is insanely useful on this fight as you can essentially skip every phase, you still have to do the memory games tho. - Saying the memory game order out loud as it happens can help solidify the order in your mind - Drop the puddles in the center of the room if possible on Uber - The Beams in the in-between phase comes out of 2 large orbs that spawn in the center of the platforms, you can see them if you go to the outside of the arena - Worthwhile Loot - Normal - Arn's Anguish (16% Drop Chance) - Powerful when combined with Ralakesh due to the new Endurance Charges - Olesya's Delight (16% Drop Chance) - Powerful with Ralakesh - Doppelganger Guise (6% Drop Chance) - starting to get somewhat popular on builds, can be worth money if popular - Echoforge (<1% Drop Chance) - insanely rare, typically worth a good amount - Uber - Impossible Escape (33% Drop Chance) - Some of these are worth a good amount, can be worthwhile to just hold onto these until some random CC makes a video using one and then offload your bulk - Progenesis (11% Drop Chance) - Crazy powerful flask, always worth a ton - Grace of the Goddess (<1% Drop Chance) - not particularly powerful but insanely rare so worth a bit - Awakened Exceptional Support Gem (~.5% Drop Chance) - Shiny Reliquary Key (1.5% Drop Chance) - Curio of Potential (5% Drop Chance) - Additional Drops - Orb of Conflict (~35% Drop Chance) - Awakened Support Gem (~25% Drop Chance) - Thoughts - Maven is almost always worth farming, but only long-term. You need a very good base of currency to start farming her as the entrance fee can be expensive. ## The Eater of Worlds - Strategy - HIGHLY suggest that if you make the mistake of trying to farm this guy you use a zHP bosser. This boss drops Nimis, one of the most powerful items in the game and his fragments are heavily inflated because of that. Farming this boss on Uber is almost always like throwing money into a fire. - Worthwhile Loot - Normal - Melding of the Flesh (~2% Drop Chance) - typically worth a decent amount if there is a popular build using it - Uber - Nimis (~1% Drop Chance) - Always extremely expensive - Ravenous Passion (66% Drop Chance) - Only really worth something if rolled extremely well or Corrupted for an Implicit - Ashes of the Stars (~33% Drop Chance) - Only really worth something if rolled extremely well, can be good 3:1 fodder - Forbidden Flesh Hidden Ascendancy Variant - Very rare but a few of these are worthwhile - Visceral Reliquary Key (1% Drop Chance) - Curio of Consumption (5% Drop Chance) - Additional Drops - Forbidden Flesh (5-10% Drop Chance) - a lot of these are worth an insane amount of money, can be worthwhile to hold onto them if not worth very much in case a CC makes a build using one. - The Ranges on Below Currency only apply to the Normal Version of this boss that can have their invitations rolled - Exceptional Eldritch Ichor (15-30% Drop Chance) - Eldritch Orb of Annulment (5-10% Drop Chance) - Eldritch Chaos Orb (5-10% Drop Chance) - Eldritch Exalted Orb (5-10% Drop Chance) - Thoughts - Almost never worth farming this boss on Uber, the only reason the fragments stay expensive is because there is a chance at Nimis and Forbidden Flesh drops. Only worthwhile in the absolute insane level of bosses killed, and even then people still lose thousands of divines farming this guy. ## The Searing Exarch - Strategy - HIGHLY suggest that you get a zHP bosser to kill this boss. It is a very difficult fight if you cannot facetank everything. - Worthwhile Loot - Normal - Dawnbreaker (33% Drop Chance) - Can be worthwhile if rolled extremely well - Dissolution of the Flesh (~2% Drop Chance) - If a popular build is using this it is worth a lot. - Uber - The Annihilating Light (47.5% Drop Chance) - typically only worth something very early or if corrupted well - The Celestial Brace (25% Drop Chance) - typically only worth something if rolled extremely well - Crystallised Omniscience (2.5% Drop Chance) - if popular it is worth a ton - Forbidden Flame Hidden Ascendancy Variant - very rare but a few of these are worthwhile - Archive Reliquary Key (1.5% Drop Chance) - Curio of Absorption (5% Drop Chance) - Additional Drops - Forbidden Flame (5-10% Drop Chance) - a lot of these are worth an insane amount of money, can be worthwhile to hold onto them if not worth very much in case a CC makes a build using one. - The Ranges on Below Currency only apply to the Normal Version of this boss that can have their invitations rolled - Exceptional Eldritch Ember (15-30% Drop Chance) - Eldritch Orb of Annulment (5-10% Drop Chance) - Eldritch Chaos Orb (5-10% Drop Chance) - Eldritch Exalted Orb (5-10% Drop Chance) - Thoughts - Not super worthwhile to farm on Uber except in the very long term for Forbidden Flame drops with a zHP build that one shots him. ## The Feared - Strategy - It is highly suggested that you be able to do Maven Influenced Uber Uber Elder to make this rotation worthwhile. Doing normal Shaper/Elder or Normal Uber Elder will significantly lower the loot quality. - Running the Cortex for gold will make this farm self-sustainable when using the exchange. - Make sure your build can handle most mods as you want to roll the invitation to be 75%+ quantity of items dropped. - Refer to individual boss guides for information. - Chayula should not pose an issue to you if you plan to run this Invitation. - Uber Atziri can be a somewhat difficult fight without reflect immunity, be careful. - Worthwhile Loot - The Feared can drop any item from the bosses that take part, however it considers them as their non-uber versions besides Atziri - Dying Sun - Bottled Faith - Atziri's Reflection - 2-Mod Watcher's Eye - Atziri's Acuity - Atziri's Disfavour - Awakened Support Gems - Orb of Dominance - Orb of Conflict - All Maven Chisel Types - The Maven's Writ / Crescent Splinters - Uber Elder Fragments - Thoughts - Very profitable most of the time as people don't enjoy doing the full rotation. Lots of somewhat difficult bosses for a lot of builds so be aware. Important to be able to run Uber Uber Elder /w Maven and 80%+ Feared Invitations. ## The King in the Mists - Strategy - Logout the moment he starts casting the maze ability where your screen gets creepy crawlies all over it. It is on average faster than actually doing the maze. - If you name lock him when he runs all over the place you will follow and continue casting at him. - Worthwhile Loot - The Light of Meaning (Wiki says 22% but I did 20+ runs and got 0) - this is worth a LOT of money if there is a type that people are interested in - Corpses - can be worth money but unreliable except in very long term farming - Thoughts - The fight is very easy and very quick but almost completely dependent on The Light of Meaning droprate which was awful for me.
