## Updates
- Impossible Escape is not needed, you can drop the Max Res Nodes or some of the Life nodes to take the points up to "As the Mountain" and anoint Inexorable ideally or Deflection.
- Added mods to T17 list.
- Turn off Tempest Shield for Uber Atziri
- Notes in the gear section about Mageblood and Headhunter
Disclaimer
- This is not a new player friendly build, it is also not a league start build. You need a good base of currency and understanding of the game to be able to play this character.
- If you need help with this build join my [Discord](https://discord.gg/YtRKj6qRPx) and look for the dedicated channel under the ducks-builds threads.
Elevator Pitch
- An extremely comfortable bossing character with crazy non-situational recovery that can facetank every Uber Boss in the game (not insta kill slams like memory game). It also looks really nice with Celestial Firestorm.

Path of Building Links
- [Inquisitor - Firestorm of Pelting - Blood Magic Life Stack - All in One PoB](https://pobb.in/27gXRZ2Iffqi)
- There are 3 Loadouts available in the top right of the PoB, the My Character and No Delve Rings loadouts have additional passive trees for 97-100
- My Character
- This is how my personal character is setup, it uses Delve Rings which may be hard to get and is adjusted for my personal situation. Should be what you eventually want to reach if you want to perform exactly like you see in the video
- No Delve Rings
- This is how the build is put together without Delve Rings, this also has all of the cleanly crafted versions of all the other gear. You can also use this as a base to work off of to implement Delve Rings into your own build, look at My Character setup for more inspiration
- High End
- This is the logical conclusion of the character with all of the high end but reasonable pieces you would go for on this build. It will be extremely expensive but should be significantly more powerful than what you see in the video. This version includes a Reflecting Mist Amulet and a Reflecting Mist Delve Ring
FAQs
- What is this build good at?
- Safe Uber Bossing
- General Bossing Tips
- Since you can facetank almost everything, Frost Shield is your friend, stand in it always.
- If a boss is overwhelming your recovery, don't run RF.
- Make sure to turn off Always Attack Without Moving on Firestorm and try to Name-Lock the boss, you can keep casting on them even if they are offscreen.
- If you are okay with manually using Immortal Call, pressing it right before a big ability hits you can let you survive very dangerous abilities/slams. Use Enduring Cry instead of CwDT if doing so.
- If doing anything involving Maven Influence like The Feared make sure to use Ryslatha minor pantheon.
- Eater of Worlds - Can facetank every ability except the large slam where he moves and then charges up. If he does the infinite tentacle attack and you get unlucky you can die. Also the drowning orbs still kill you and are insanely annoying on this build since they don't really get knocked back. This boss isn't hard but it can be slow because of how much he moves. Use Immortal Call during the Charge up Laser where he says "Succumb!".
- Maven - Can facetank most abilities, most dangerous thing here is having your recovery turned off by the sweeping beams or the lasers in the final phase. Cannot tank the large circle on the ground charge up slam. Degen puddles are very easy to deal with, just drop them in the same exact position every single time. You can stand in the puddles with no problem. Use Immortal Call during the giant fireballs where she says "Take This!".
- Searing Exarch - Can facetank every ability except his long charge up slam. Only thing that can reasonably kill you is if 6-7 balls hit you at the same time, or if one of the runes spawns under you while facetanking another ability. Use Immortal Call during the "Annihilation" ability.
- Shaper - Can facetank most abilities. Slam will almost always kill you without Immortal Call, as soon as you see him doing it start moving and blink right as he teleports. It is possible to die if you don't have Frost Shield up and tank too many balls at once and get unlucky with blocks. You can stand in every beam, and every puddle with no consequences.
- Uber Elder + Maven - This is the hardest Uber by a long shot because of RNG. Shaper Slam will still almost always kill you without Immortal Call, must dodge it. Elder Circles can kill you. If you get unlucky on block rng for Balls + Elder Proj you can die. If Maven decides to speed them up or make Shaper copies you can get overwhelmed. You can ignore all of the puddles, and secondary mobs that drop puddles, they don't do anything to you.
- Sirus - Can facetank almost every ability. Meteor is blockable but will kill you if you don't block, Immortal Call does not seem to be enough to consistently survive unless you have full endurance charges + Frost Shield. There are smaller puddles that Sirus makes that can turn off your recovery, these are very dangerous. Storms will kill you if you go too deep into them, but you can skirt the outside safely. Use Immortal Call during the huge charge up laser in the final phase where he splits into copies.
- Cortex - In general is not dangerous without multiple damage mods. Can facetank almost everything except the final boss large wind up slam with the spinning lasers. The large mech has a quick beam attack that can one shot you if the map rolls 2-3 dangerous damage mods.
- Uber Atziri - Mirror Clone will be an instant one shot if you touch it with anything, you can also kill yourself to normal version as she has 1% reflect if you go too hard. Tempest Shield can chain to the Mirror Clone, if you're randomly dying it is probably this. Most everything else is survivable here. You need Immortal Call for Flameblast if you don't block it, and even with IC you can still die sometimes.
- The Feared - Can roll 80+ Quant and do almost every mod. Ele reflect is not doable and you need to be careful with mods that reduce max res or recovery rate, turn off RF and be careful with those mods. Chayula / Shaper can kill you with damage mods. Kill priority is Elder > Shaper > Chayula > Atziri > Cortex.
- Juiced T17s (Strongboxes / Map Mod Effect / 20% Deli / Etc)
- The build isn't *great* at doing these quickly, but it can survive quite well.
- Mods to Avoid
- Drowning Orbs - Get lost in the visuals and hard to escape with Spell Echo
- Reflect Ele - kills you instantly
- Searing Exarch Runes - Very annoying to see, technically doable but I hate them
- Volatile Cores - hit way too hard and can be frustrating to remember
- Awakener's Desolation - disables regen, very dangerous
- Annoying Mods but Doable as long as you don't stack a ton of these
- No damage for 3/10 Seconds
- Grasping Vines on Hit
- Marked for Death
- Reduced Action Speed per Skill Used
- -Max Res - Dont use RF
- Less Area of Effect - Honestly miserable for clearing but doable
- Petrification Statues - you can survive most of the time just annoying
- Reduced Buff Duration - can remove a lot of your defensive layers, be careful with flask duration altar mods in combination with this
- Reduced Block Chance
- Monster Types to Watch Out For
- Revenants and the Big Bone Bears because of corpse explosion
- Fire Fury Boss when there is Multi Proj + AoE on the map
- Giant Goat Boss when there are dangerous damage mods
- Boss Notes
- Abomination Boss - Nightmare of the Depraved Trinity
- Kill Order - Maligaro -> Shavronne -> Doedre
- Use Immortal Call on Shavronne charge up slam and the Trinity wind up over the head slam
- Citadel Boss - Nightmare of Uhtred
- Vorana has a charge up attack that can hit very hard on maps with lots of damage mods, use Immortal Call here.
- Fortress Boss - Nightmare of the Unbreakable
- Use Immortal Call on the charge up slam
- Sanctuary Boss - Nightmare of Lycia
- Use Immortal Call on the large charge up runes that she spawns, make sure to stay in the middle
- Has a melee slam where she flies into the air and then slams you, Immortal Call helps here but on very dangerous maps this can kill you, it is easily dodgeable
- Her Call Weapon ability where she says "Swift Death!" can kill you if you stand in it and get unlucky with blocks.
- Nightmare of Beidat which spawns at 50% has an ability that reduces your life/es recovery rate, be careful not to overcast here if you're dying
- Ziggurat Boss - Nightmare of Catarina
- Only dangerous ability here is when she spawns skulls on the ground, you have to run over them to pop them before they spawn into crawling skeletons.
- Pros of the Build
- Extremely durable
- Excellent recovery without having to hit enemies
- Mid-high tier damage
- Extremely safe Uber Bosser
- Cons of the Build
- Not great at clearing / moving quickly
- Spell Echo can feel bad at lower cast speed levels
- If your recovery gets turned off you die ***very*** quickly
- How expensive is this build?
- 1/5 SSF Friendly
- 2/5 Budget
- 3/5 Moderately Expensive
- 4/5 Mageblood / HH / Etc
- 5/5 Mirror Tier
- Build at base level is roughly a 3, but can scale up into 4/4.5 if you want crazy enough items like in the High End PoB
- How does the build survive?
- Avoidance Layers
- 78 Block / 78 Spell Block
- Defensive Layers
- Large Life Pool + Energy Shield
- Endurance Charges
- Immortal Call
- +Max Resistances
- Malediction from The Dark Seer
- Petrified Blood
- Frost Shield
- Recovery Layers
- Life Regen
- Energy Shield Regen
- Overleech from Petrified Blood
- Utility Layers
- Corrupted Blood immunity Jewel Implicit
- Elemental Ailment Immunity from Cloistered Timeless Jewel
- Reduced Effect of Curses from Flask + Conc Ground
- Pseudo Stun Immunity from Immutable Force
- How does the build sustain its abilities?
- We use Blood Magic so all of our abilities cost Life, the build has a huge amount of life regen / leech to recover this.
- How does the build deal damage?
- Rathpith Globe provides us Spell Crit and Spell Damage based off of Maximum Life.
- We ignore the downside of Infernal Mantle with Blood Magic which allows us to easily scale an insane amount of gem levels and crit chance.
- As an Inquisitor we can make excellent use of 100% Chance to crit as it allows us to ignore enemy elemental resistances.
- We scale reduced AoE and increased duration on Firestorm of Pelting which helps us get up to 12 storms out at once time and increases their overlaps.
- How do you level this build?
- Realistically this is an endgame build, you can level as anything you want. Some examples would be [Imexile's Archmage Firestorm Leveling Guide](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDghMNvQXuk) or you can level as any other templar league start guide / build and swap your character into this. I personally used leveling gear and just leveled as Blood Magic Firestorm.
- Weird Interactions?
- The Timeless Jewel is a bit weird to properly obtain. Check below or the video guide at the top for info on how to obtain one.
- Firestorm of Pelting does not properly scale duration in PoB so it can be difficult to figure out how many of them you can get out consistently. It also does not take into account the theoretical top end dps increase of duration scaling. To figure out how many Firestorms you can have at once, check the duration of the spell in game and multiply that by your cast rate in PoB.
- Immutable Force gives you Stun and Block Recovery, and with 961% total you reduce your recovery time to shorter than 1 server tick. This doesn't make you immune to stuns and your spells can still get interrupted, you just won't be stunned for longer than 1 server tick.
- Blood Magic makes it so that you can never be on Low Mana, avoiding the downside of Infernal Mantle.
- The Red Nightmare can be combined with Fire Resist Tattoos to get a crazy amount of block chance.
- If you leave at least a tiny sliver of life unreserved above the 55% which is considered low life with the Life Mastery, petrified blood will prevent this from being filled. This allows you to maintain maximum leech at all times, this is typically called "Overleech".
- List of Common Errors
- Walking without casting/stopping for too long will disable Consecrated Ground effect on you.
- Over reserving life can make your overleech not function. Make sure in PoB you see the line "Life Recoverable" under the Life section.
- Make sure you are maintaining your intensity stacks or you will not do good damage on single target
Ascendancy
- Inquisitor
- Righteous Providence
- Provides Strength and Intelligence which helps us fill in more Tattoos, as well as Crit Chance per lowest of Str / Int, which helps us cap Crit quite easily.
- Inevitable Judgement
- The main damage scaling of the Inquisitor, ignores all Elemental Resist on crit, this means reducing enemy resistances through skills does nothing.
- Sanctuary
- Gives us perma Consecrated Ground while stationary and causes enemies on ground we create to take more damage.
- Pious Path
- The main defensive scaling of the Inquisitor, Consecrated ground lingers and makes our Life regen also affect our Energy Shield
Skills Used
- Main Ability(s)
- Firestorm of Pelting - Transfigured version of Firestorm that only has the smaller meteors. Significantly better damage on single target and scales extremely well with duration. Normal Firestorm is decently worse than Pelting and Meteors is significantly worse than both with this setup.
- Aura(s)
- Life
- Tempest Shield - Huge source of Spell Block
- Petrified Blood - Allows us to gain the benefits of low life, doubles the effectiveness of recovery, and if we leave a small gap of life above where we can recover it gives us Overleech
- Vitality - Life Regen and Watcher's Eye enabler
- Precision - (High End only) just using up the additional space we have here, helps cap crit against enemies that do not have Assassin's Mark
- Blessing
- Zealotry - This allows us to get Consecrated Ground under enemies, also provides some crit and spell damage
- Utility
- Storm Brand - Shock, Culling Strike, and our Source of Power Charges
- Righteous Fire - More Spell Damage
- Frost Shield - We have a significant amount of Energy Shield recovery so this is essentially no downside and provides a significant boost to max hit
- Assassin's Mark - Caps crit on bosses and provides some damage
- Immortal Call - CwDT is fine for this ability in general content, but self casting is significantly better in Uber Bossing. Using this before a boss does a big ability can cause to you survive most things.
- Enduring Cry - Slot this in instead of CwDT for Bossing, provides huge regen and Endurance Charges.
- Movement
- Frostblink of Wintry Blast - We scale a lot of cast speed which makes this a solid movement ability
Gear
Test EVERY SINGLE CRAFT on [Craft of Exile](https://craftofexile.com) before doing any of these in game, do it multiple times until you absolutely understand what you are doing.
- Main Gear
- Mainhand - Unique

- Make sure you slam any open slots and the extra mods will not brick your build if they go negative
- Send a prayer to Christ Wilson
- Reflect and hope for the best (if these rings get to be an insane price you might consider using Hinekora's Locks here)
- Use a Kalandra's Touch in your other ring slot if you somehow manage to make this ring
- Belt - Crafted Influenced Rare
- Crafting Notes
- Base - ilvl 84+ Hunter Influenced Stygian
- Crafting
- Use Single Resonator Pristine Fossils until you hit T1 % Life and an acceptable tier of +Life
- Annul for an open suffix if needed
- Craft Prefixes cannot be changed and use a Chaos Reforge Harvest craft (NOTE: If you have an open prefix here you can hit %inc Chaos Damage, it might be worth a ton so double check, it is up to you if you want to deal with this, if not, exalt slam a prefix before harvest crafting)
- If the chaos resist roll is not high enough for your gear, repeat the previous step (it can fill suffixes very rarely so be aware)
- Craft Resist or Stats that you need
- Slam final Suffix
- Finishing
- 20% Life/Mana Quality
- Mageblood
- Realistically there isn't a lot of use for Mageblood on this build, they removed Cast Speed from the flask pool and the crafted hunter belt gives an insane amount of life, hard to argue for mageblood.
- Headhunter
- Not really a map blaster, HH does not make sense here.
- Flasks
- Basic
- Silver and Quartz have lower uptime, put MS and Armor on them as those mods are less important, other 3 can go on whichever
- Flask Types
- Silver - Cast Speed is one of our most important stats
- Quartz - Phasing is very important for mapping in general, if doing bosses that you don't need to clear on you can replace this with Bottled Faith, a Sulphur Flask, or a Progenesis
- Sapphire - Max Resistances are good
- Topaz - Max Resistances are good
- Ruby - Max Fire Res reduces RF self damage and Max Resistances are good
- Suffix Mods
- Movement Speed
- Armour
- Crit
- Reduced Effect of Curses
- 3% Regen Crafted Mod
- Jewels
- Unique
- Immutable Force - 961% or higher, it can be slightly lower if you rolled S&B Recovery on any piece of your gear
- The Red Nightmare - Might be cheaper to buy Red Dream and use a Chayula Blessing on it, very important that it goes exactly where I have it, you must include the tattoos around it
- Watcher's Eye - Not needed, but a very solid upgrade if you can fit it. Go for Vitality Recovery Rate and Zealotry Inc Damage Taken or Cast Speed
- Impossible Escape - also not needed, but very strong, you can anoint Inexorable or Deflection and take the points going to As the Mountain if you can't get this, drop the Max Res nodes or Warrior's Blood
- Militant Faith
- Must be High Templar Dominus
- +2% Ele Resist per 10 Devotion is very powerful here but will become expensive, let alone Resists + Damage / Devotion.
- Cloistered is the Node you are looking for and it can be on Ancestral Knowledge or Expertise. It can also be on Sanctity, Combat Stamina, or absolute worst case Dynamo, but those all have downsides.
- You need to make sure you have 150 devotion in the circle, you can adjust this by taking different nodes.
- There is a section in the video guide at the top on how to use the Timeless Jewel finder for this, it will explain how to find this jewel better than text.
[Image of Timeless Jewel Settings](https://imgur.com/7eD9vLz)
- Image above may not load at some point, watch the video if it isn't loaded. The above image is an example of the settings for finding the timeless jewel. Set your tree up how you want to have the nodes laid out. Block the nodes you want to protect in the top left, set Cloistered and Total Devotion in the Desired Nodes, and then search for jewels with 150 total devotion on the right.
- Basic
- If you for some reason have room for a Basic Jewel, use a 7% Life Jewel with as much Crit multi as you can manage
- Tattoos
- Strength
- Fire Resist on every Strength node within the Red Nightmare circle
- Block Chance until you are at 78% Block
- Intelligence
- Lightning Resist as needed
- Chaos Resist as needed
- Hinder on Spell Hit x1 if room
