IclR-like regulators are a family of transcriptional regulators they can function eiyher a repressor and a promotor by either preventing RNA polymerase binding or promoting it. it appears to be highly variable with its DNA binding domain being not well conserved and having variabilty in its ligand binding domain. and this variabilty contributes to the genes they regulate and whether in repress or promote genes. They are on average about 250bp. an IclR-like regulator is believed to be involved in the uptake of vibriobactin in pseudomonas but the specifics seem to remain unclear. also for clarity on what the letters are its; icLR
