### Hello and welcome to my neurosis
**Notice:** This website is still a WIP, I am currently working on a few separate pages, namely the divisome, efflux pumps and beta-lactamases. Older pages are being added to and reworked. 12/09/25
>This was a document initially created for personal use by Alex Case (OM enthusiast), but as my master document has grown I decided to put some effort towards making this an accessible resource; one mans neurosis is another mans "I found this niche website that talks about what I'm studying".
Additionally I spend **_A LOT_** of time reading papers but never writing it down here (sometimes it's just too fun and I go on tangential side missions when all I wanted to know was if two proteins interacted or something) so if there are any questions or requests for further reading I can probably send you on your way- link at the bottom of this page.
>
I would also like to highlight here that I am currently working on a folder called **"The fundamentals"** in the hopes of providing additional and foundational information to hopefully understand the rest of this page. however, its difficult for me to both explain these things and also to know what is known and what is not so i will attempt to compile a lot of stuff that should be useful and hopefully something will stick :)
>
**ALSO**- This is not intended to be used in isolation especially since a lot of where I focus is on **Gammaproteobacteria**. However, it will, I imagine prove useful for some of the basics. I recommend using it to find the words you are looking for to then delve further into what you were trying to find out. Half the time this was the hardest part, you don't know to look for something if you never even knew it existed, this still catches me out now.
>
>While this information is coming from published sources this doesn't mean it isn't potentially outdated or misunderstood by yours truly, treat this how you would treat an unregulated Wikipedia- it's useful but it was written by just some guy.
I **have** made many spelling mistakes although I have tried to mitigate this; it is unfortunately inevitable due to the breadth of this document, lack of an initial integrated spell/grammar checker and no proof reader :~. I also may have made some acronyms or abbreviations that are not referenced I will include a handful of important ones at the bottom of this page!
>### **Information on the references**
The references in this document are not generally primary sources as this is a culmination of mostly review articles and some information is likely unreferenced as i was initially only including links to pages that i found to be truly useful (twas, as previously mentioned for personal use only :p)
However this document has evolved significantly, what initially was to aid me in my studies has become a home for my *beautiful mind* I am currently in the throws of retroactively adding references as I have most of the papers either in PDF form or in a grouped tab in chrome. But i hope that for the time being having all the information in one place will make it useful for potential readers of this information to go off and find their own papers and review articles.
