Sculpture-as-object is the most straight forward understanding of the word "sculpture." It is an entity (with one or more components) that exists in a space, with no real regard for the space it is in. Though, in actuality, all works are affected by, and affect the space they are in. An artist working on work without anticipating future spatial circumstances is probably working in an object-oriented modality.
